Bulging disc in my lower back keeps bringing back muscle spasms so I medicate with high quality marijuana to manage the pain. At times it becomes a real hassle when just trying to get to sleep.

The only thing in my life that I have been overqualified for! I medicate for many ailments-
Chronic pain due to abdominal adheshions- siatica-arthritis- osteo(Bad Bones)-migraines-
IBS- insomnia(never have had a reg. sleep pattern)-stomach disorders- Gosh, I didn't realize what a mess I was, till I read it in Black & White! I have been able to eliminate almost all my pharmacuticles!!! Including pain patches & Tylox, Soma. I just medicate with mmj when I need to. Not having to work has been one of the reasons I can do this during the day. Would never have been able to medicate this way when I worked 40 hrs+ a week. So, there you have it!!

I initially decided to try using marijuana medicinally to help with my severe insomnia . I smoked marijuana for a few years prior to my diagnosis , but never utilized it to my benefit . After being prescribed a mess of sleeping pills including Ambien, Lunesta and then eventually progressing to Ambien CR, I became addicted to pills and could not get normal sleep with or without them . Medicinal marijuana not only helped me get to sleep with more ease than any amount of pills , but it helped me to break the addiction .
My friends always make fun of me when I tell them that my life has gotten exponentially better since getting my card . Not being able to sleep is one of the most debilitating and difficult things to deal with. Sleeping pills also do not help the cause . I found them to take a major toll on my body and I had dangerous side effects such as sleep driving and accidental over doses (which would come when I was already under the influence of sleeping pills) . I now am a diehard advocate for medicinal uses for marijuana . It is not only more effective than the other remedies I tried , but it is healthier and provides less of a handicap for me .

For me it's chronic pain from degenerative osteoarthritis for the last 8 years.
It helps with my general stress, anxiety and insomnia too.

I just have Rheumatoid Arthritis and it effects every joint in my body,.
Cannabis helps the inflammation and keeps it almost non-existent along with a good diet plan,.
staying away from carbonated water was the biggest one i think,. soda pop,.

Chronic Right Scapula/Thoracic/Neck bursitis pain from a sports injury. I should have surgery but I need to work right now for financial reasons. Strange and ironic thing is that cannabis keeps me working at a high level but if my job found out I was a cannabis smoker I would get fired.

I also have fibromyalgia which makes my scapula pain worse, and also contributes to stomach bloating associated with fibromyalgia. I also have acid reflux disease and a stomach hernia. I have thumb tendonitis from years of playing a musical instrument and I am naturally anxious and high strung.

I smoke for pain, sleep, nausea, anxiety and insomnia management. I'm pretty much dependent on cannabis but I also feel very happy, balanced and accomplished. I feel a little guilt in that I lie to my parents and my job in order to keep working but I feel that I am more of a contribution in working in my local community and smoking medical weed behind closed doors.

I use for Siatica and I have a degenerated disc in my lower back, and mostly for the pain caused by dysmenorrhea. I have never had such relief from any medication then MMJ for my dysmenorrhea.

Plus I medicate with purples when my stomache acts up, and a heavy indica to sleep (I am an acute insomniac)

After a head injury, I suffered mild brain damage. I have an impulse control issue, lost my sense of smell, and got some tremper problems to go wit it all. The docs tried a depekote/prozac cocktail, which was cool for a while, but the side effects were worse depression. I have smoked herb for 15 years, so I ditched the med cocktail and went back to the all natural. Now I have had no issues, I can eat again, sleep, and dont get in fights. I'd say thanks to the weed,I live a normal life.

my use is at least 3 fold.. 1 for glaucoma I found out I have about 5 years ago, 2 for migraines and 1 mj hit works better then 4 Vicoden a day. and 3rd use is for shoulder pain, after breaking my collar bone in 3 places ( crushing it really ) mj helps the pain and makes it managable.

I have an auto immune disease. My own anti-bodies have attacked the nerves in my legs & have eaten the myelin that covers the nerves. I get electrical shocks in my legs & burning, stabbing pains. It's worse at night when I take my brace off.....wake up 8-10 times a night. Since I got my rec, only wake up 2-3 times. It takes the strongest indicas I can find as well as concentrates. Much rather do it naturally than take debilitating pharmaceuticals.....no thanks VA!!

anxiety/stress sativa strains help the most ..was on adavan and another anxiety drugs now no more.. I was hdhd as a child and was prescribed ritlian..bad stuff...is there a link between ritlian use and anxiety in adult years i thought i saw a article in the thearpy mag

I have finally come to understand that using marijuana has been my way of self medicating to forget the unpleasant things that happened to me when I was a very small child. There's nothing like family right?

Apparently such things can cause PTSD and result in migraines, depression and insomnia to name a few. MMJ helps with many of these especially insomnia and depression.

So, to feel better and keep whatever it is I don't want to deal with at bay is use marijuana. Don't like pills as the opiates don't work very well on me for pain anyway. I can take several vicodin and get no pain relief at all. Even edibles don't seem to work on for me.

I am battling Stage IV breast cancer ... metastases to abdomen and bone marrow. In the past couple of months, I have totally lost my appetite as well as quite a bit of muscle. So, my MMJ helps me to eat like a normal person. ;) Sometimes more like a horse, but more often like a normal person.

I typically find that indica triggers my appetite better than sativa. But, for some weird reason, it kind of enhances pain rather than numbs it. It seems to make me more body aware so if my back is aching, for example, it aches more once I'm medicated.

Is that weird or what?

Ive been using since the 5th grade. I had bad asthma, bronchitis as a child. Which resolved as i smoked mj in my teens. As i reflect now i used it for depression also. Growing up with an alcoholic father, i soon followed in his footsteps which only lead me to experiment with other drugs. Then i discovered marijuana again and it helped stop my craving for alcohol and cocaine. I use it now for my depression episodes, back and neck pain, insomnia, restless legs and anxiety i get at night when i dont medicate all day. Now that i think about it ive been medicating all this time and not realizing how wonderful this herb is to myself and other patients. I hate taken pharmaceuticals and wont til this day. Not even otc meds for the common flu. Nuff respect and keep medicating cali patients. Theres a reason why jah made this plant.

Sleeping disorder, anxiety, clinical depression...hybrids in daytime, indicas at night. Blue Dream is my favorite; gives you giggles! I don't want to get addicted to sleeping pills nor suffer with side effects from anti-depressants. Nothing works as well as cannabis and the side effects are minor and I don't feel the least bit addicted...I LOVE MARIJUANA!!!:001_tt1: I feel it was a a gift from the lord - medicate safely!
