Morning Medication

I've had to switch nerve pain meds recently, and am thus in that limbo state where my doctor is trying a bunch of different meds on me until we find one that works with minimal side effects. This means I wake up already in pain quite a bit. So, for those who medicate soon after awakening, what strains in particular do you use?

Re: Morning Medication

The hybrid strains work the best for me karatestereo. The purple strains, specifically. When I try a new strain to see how it works for me, I use a two bongload benchmark. I smoke it my first smoke of the day. After two bongs I can tell how that strain effects me, and I can tell if it works how I need it to. I have been able to mix and match different things as to how heavy or light I need the meds to be that day, by learning each one and how it makes me feel.

blah blah blah..lol.

No blah blah coming this way Missy. I find your method really interesting and valuable for reasons too obscure to speak of now.

But, don't you find that the meds you've previously sampled mask the unique effects of the current bongload?

Ah! I suppose you evaluate one different strain while you are fresh in the morning, and then after however many days familiarizing yourself with single strains you experiment with mix-n-match effects.

BTW wake-n-bake is my most crucial medication of the day. I guess it's like coffee is for a lot of people. It clears up the fog and gets me motivated and going. (I have to use a heavy hand with the stuff -on top of my pharmas- to control what seems to be daily subliminal seizure activity.)

I suggest you find out for yourself. I beleive there is no rule etched in stone about MMJ. Indica makes some sleepy, and stimulates others ect, ect. Traditional medicines are the same to a certain degree. I smoke OG in the morning on the rare morning that I medicate. Alot of people would pass out if they smoked OG in the am.

Re: Morning Medication

Exactly HappaGuy. Fresh in the morning unmedicated I can tell the type of effect. It is something I have done over time. That is why I know the purples work well for me. So I look for purples when I am shopping. It is not an exact science, but I can get an idea of how strong a batch of the same medicine is, and go from there. If my tummy is upset, I know which strain works the best on that, and so forth. When I want to sleep, I can choose for that as well. Why do I feel like I am babbling..hahahahaha!!

After several months of trying your method with different strains; I have come to be in a good place with morning meds and symptom relief. The purples indeed seem to do the trick. Thanks so much for the advice, it helped greatly.

I agree. There is nothing like a large bonghit of green crack or haze to get my day going.

Question Re: Morning Medication

I suffer from constant pain due to never damage. I am looking for a morning toke that will not effect my ability to function at work, but assist in relieving the pain while I must sit behind a desk all day long and manage people. Does anyone have any good suggestions?

Re: Morning Medication

Usually, pain is what wakes me up at 6:30 am, every morning. I take 10mg of Vicodin, then lay down, trying to meditate and block the pain.

I will do some MMJ after breakfast, around 8 am, whether I use a bubble pipe, or saute a little in butter if my pain levels are really high, and toss a piece of bread on it, making toast. A touch of peanut butter & honey over that is yummy!

Anyway, I prefer Sativa, or Sativa/Indica hybrids during the day, depending on how bad pain levels are.

Night, I switch over to Indica. I find I prefer to eat it for my chronic pain, but when I'm in agony (8/10 - 10/10 pain), I'll smoke it, and then also eat my mmj toast; eating it works best for my daily pain, but seems to take more than smoking, so I'm still trying to get the hang of all of this, to be more conservative with my meds.
