Wink Re: blood pressure and high heart rate

i also have had these problems, im 23. mine felt like some one squeezing the air out of my lungs, i got real dizzy and felt like i was gonna faint. I fell to my knees and i started having bad cold sweats. this happend when i was getting a drink of water, they took an ekg and said i had a mild heart attack.

i figured im too young for that why did it happen , my Dr. said it could be stress related. Heart problems are also a major problem in my family in the older men, accept my cousin Jason passed away at age 28 2 years ago from a massive infarction. Just this week i found out my younger cousin Jared age 20 has been fainting do too extreamly low blood preasure.

Im starting to see problems for me later in the future if i don't keep in shape, Weight is also a factor. my Dr. told me to be on a strict low to no sodium intake.

basically what im trying to say is just monitor your vitals, im sure if your ekg was fine you should be fine. If any of the above applys to you stay on top of it and dont let it escalate. talk to your Dr. he/ she will be able to give more pertinent advice.

Re: blood pressure and high heart rate

I had something very similar happen to me over the labor day weekend. I was struggling to breath, had chest pain. When I was admitted to the emergency room BP was 222/160, and began sweating badly. When the cardiologist did an ultra sound of my heart, he told me the heart is operating at only 30% and that I had had 2 recent mild heart attacks. I thought he was trying to scare me because I smoke cigarrettes. Several days later when I went to see my regular Dr, and told him what had happened, he informed me that 25% of all heart attacks are silent and you don't even know your having one. They loaded me up on B/P meds. The B/P then went down too low 80/55. They had to adjust the meds. Hope this info helps.

well i was wrong about the EKG being fine, it was abnormal so my primary care DR increased my my meds by 10 mgs, one at night and one at day, but the only time i could get into the Cadioligist is the 10th of next month, i'm scared, so my partner is going to take the EKG to the Cardio DR monday so he can see it and decide if i need to come in sonner, their is something wrong forsure, but what else is new it's always something i swear i need a break soon, either it's infection or vomiting and nasusa on a daliy basis, i guess i'm tired abit, and i need to get the hell out of the house, but i can't, i'm home bound almost bed bound, but i refuse to quit and just lay down and die, never ay die!!!!! i will get thu this no matter what it takes, and i have a great DR.they have done more than a few EKG and this is the frist one to be abnormal, it's about time!! they have just been waiting for something to go wrong with me till they do anything, but my DR belives in prevention, thank god for that!! i have to go and partake of some meds with chomps oil and master kush juice on my buds, and i hope that will make me feel better,,, thankd]s for your replys,,, Endlessssky and RN4mmj:partysmile:

Re: blood pressure and high heart rate

Hi Endlessly,

I know that you enjoy Green Crack as one of your preferred meds. Often times, a strong sativa can cause a rapid heartbeat, even bordering on a heart thumping. I know that I experience this when over doing it with Skywalker, or other very potent OG's. When this happens, it is a very uncomfortable feeling. I personally have thought I was having a heart attack a time or two during an episode like this.

Perhaps, until you've got things worked out, it might be reasonable to consider medicating with only Indica dominant strains?

I hope that you and your doctors get things worked out soon, and that you can find comfort again, without panic.

Take care, and have a nice weekend!

Re: blood pressure and high heart rate

Aloha Everyone,

I know that feeling. But first i should let you know that before this whole Medical Cannabis Prop. 215 and SB 420. I was getting high the illegal way like everyone else! I did it all Meth, Ludes, Acid/Speed, Marijuana, Beer & Hard Liquar!

One night i was taking a shower and for some reason i could see the water hitting my face and my body but i couldn't feel it and i blacked out! i woke up in the Hospital ER and there was one noise that i focused on right away! The Heart Monitor was BEEPING really fast i turned my head towards the fast BEEPING and i saw the number 217 on a screen filled with zig zaging lines!!! I was just waiting to die calm and i accepted it, then the doctor came in with a needle filled with something! He put the needle into my IV and he injected it VERY SLOWLY! i can see the number go down from 217 to 190 then the Dr. stopped. My heart stayed at 190 and the Dr came back and did it again, the number went from 190 to 180 and he stopped, he did that over & over again until my heart rate was down to 75 and 80. Then he came to and ask "What drug i was using?" i request that whole Doctor/Patient thing Dr. Agreed and i told him Meth, Acid, Speed & Beer a whole lotta BEER! Then the Doctor did the whole battery of tests on me EKG, Untra Sound on my heart and huge arteries in my Legs & Arms and x-rays. He told me that my heart was still in Very Good Condition and that i did not have a heart attack. My body was reacting very badly to all the drugs/chemicals i put into my body. I survived because i had a Very Strong Heart! But he told me to STOP the illicit drug use. i quit cold turkey the Meth, Acid/speed, ludes, beer everything but the Marijuana! Because i saw it as everything else was Man Made drugs and Marijuana was a natural plant!

So, to this point when i get a fast heart rate, heavy breathing, cold sweats, chills & trembles i know what it is. It's not as intense as the attack that put me in the ER. It's just the Sativa's doing what they're supposed to do, the same with some powerful Indica's. So, here's what i do.

I sit on my most comfortable lazy boy recliner. I have my TV remote and a can of carbonated water (flavored) with NO CAFFEINE watch my favorite re-run, take a drink and here's the thing, i BURP. I can feel my chest lighten up and i can feel my heart beat less or slower, it's still fast but not as fast as before. I BURP again and i feel better before i knew it i woke up the following morning my good ole self, heat beat normal, BP is normal!

I just drank, belched and relaxed and did that a few more times until i just feel asleep on my lazy boy! That was it!

Now That's just me!!!
That's what happened to me!!!

TakeCare Everyone! I hope y'all find what helps you most! Aloha Nui Loa :o)

Talking Re: blood pressure and high heart rate

yes i am very aware of the sativa's reaction, and useally go for a hybrid, never a stright up sativa,, which why i got my rec, on the street noone can tell me if it's indica or sativa, they just look at me funny, i know it's the bomb bomb man, everyone says that BS about bud from the street, anyway GC don'st seem to bother me or blue dream, i have had a few sativa 's that i reacted to, so i am very carefull, but the thing is Addisons has alot to do with my BP, but it uesally it drops and you go into shock, not high, they think it's the hepc, ive been sick along time, and they have heard this irregular heart beat for years, i just can't seem to convince them that it's serious, my primary care DR takes me serious though, and we will remeady this, they are talking about a esophgeal band for the varicies so i don't bleed to death, if i start to vomit blood again, now the blood is comeing out the other end now must be a hemmroid, sure was alot of blood in the toilet, but i called my partner at work and she seems think i am ok, just a hemmroid, ok, well i will see ya later and thank kushmiester for the advice, i have been watching it, thanks for careing so much,, Endlesssky and Rn4mmj:partysmile:ps you all have a great time at the partys tonight , smoke one for me!!!!E

That's how I do it too!!! I feel a warmth come over me, my heartrate spikes, I feel lightheaded......I burp.....it goes away.

I found out that I have a hiatal (sp?) hernia that bumps into my vagus nerve. The nerve gets irritated and affects my heart rate and other bodily functions. When I burp, it relieves the pressure and stops it. Google the vagus nerve and it will tell you all the wierd effects it can have on you because of the parts of the body it connects with.

Re: blood pressure and high heart rate

Endless - I had a heart attack about three months ago. I am 38 years old. My cholesterol was 175 and my blood pressure was 120/60 before the heart attack so I did not have any warning signs. I was swimming laps when my shoulder started to hurt very badly. I thought I had just pulled a muscle in my shoulder. My better half made me go to the ER. When at the ER I had an EKG and within 30 seconds they new I was having a heart attack. I was expecting someone to jump out and yell you have been punked. It was no joke. I had angioplasty and a stint put in my lower valve. I feel better then I have in ten years because I am no longer tired and it has scared me in to quitting, cold turkey, a three pack a day habit. After speaking with other people who have had a heart attack the one constant was the feeling that if you could use the restroom or throw up I would feel all better. The reason for all this information is does not hesitate to go for help if you have the signs. The worst case scenario is you are told you are fine and best case scenario is mine is the doctors catch the heart attack and stop/decrease the damage a heart attack does to your most important muscle. If I had not had Marsha with me I would have gone to sleep the night of the attack and I would not be typing now according to my cardiologist. Please feel free to PM me because I will provide you any and all information I have. I hope this helps.

i've been haveing very bad nausa when my bp goe's up i get all sweaty and nausa comes on fast, i use phenagan and mmj to keep from tossing, it's hard ro tell whats up with the nasua iv'e had it a very long time and none seems to know why, iv'e had scopes both ways more tan once and i am getting another soon, cause my primary care DR wants to check my varies to make sure it's not bleeding and band if poissable, so that i won't bleed out when esophegeal varies gets bad, what happens is that with cirrohous of the liver you vomit alot and i have had bloody vomit for years, i stoppd for year but don't why or how i got better but it's back and my DR just want to be better safe than sorry, i love this guy, he;s so though, their running all kinds of blood work to check my heart muscel an all muscel's and anything eles his wife could think of, it;s great when he;s busyhis wife is te same kind of DR so she'll see me too and the bot have the greatest bed side manner since my father!!!! he was DR also, so i am very picky about my DR's the dentist i went to the other day i will never go back, chck this out. i have a very bad tooth that broke in half and is now to the jaw bone, no one will touch me cause of the hemaphilla B and a factor 11 defenincy and one other blood disorder i can never remmeber and i am on pridnazone which is a streriod that lower the immune system, so i am telling the dentist all this and before i was even half way done he walked out and went to his office, how dam rude was that, so i got up and left, i get a call from them to come in and get it pulled, and i askd her what about prophalic anitibiotic's and i have to have releases from my hemtoligist to even pull my tooth, cause e wants to be in town wen ever they do any surgery on me my platlet count is way to low for me to clot well, and this guy just wants to pull te sucker out well me too, but i don;t need an abcess to try and fight off infection is rally hard for me . the last time they hospitlizd me for 4 day's on IV antibotics and iV food cause i couldn't old anything down, i almost lost my right leg to celutius, you know when to worry is when they break out the majic marker and start to mark you legs to see how far it;s gone they looked worried when my left leg got bigger than my right, but as i said i have a great DR who made me feel safe and well cared for and the nurse's were great to me, they took me out to smoke and let me sit in te sunrise every morinning so i didn;t get depressed at all, i feel so lucky to have such a great dr, i have been thouth te gamit of bad DR hwo dimiised me and made me imunne defentiant, before i ever had to go on prdnazone, i have Addisons decease, and the only way to keep my bloodsugar up is pridnazone, it's a life saveing med for me and a med that can kill me too., but i have no choice so i take it,Addisons means that i have adrenal failure i almost died before they finally got the diagnoses right, ten this dumb DR goe's i think it's in your head and wanted to put me in the hospital and run test's agiain, so i walked out on the quack and went to get a secound opieion, well the i picked out from the phone book just happeded to be studying the same decease as i have been diganosed with and he thoughly looked me over and checked everything and then saw how much pridnazone that dR had me was way to high, i had black circles under my eyeys and i looked very sick, after i was with this DR for one month, my other DR wanted to know what i did differeant, cause they said it was the best i ever looked it's my DR, i have to go i don't feel well at all see E

Endlessky, you are truly a fighter, someone whom I'd love to meet in person! Thank you for being so honest.

There are others here, who told their stories, and you are ALL inspirational.

Never give in, just fight, fight fight! Naps are okay inbetween fights!

endlessky,

All i can say is WOW! you have been through hell and back! I know this may sound silly but did the doctor's check your ears for any ruptures that could cause an ear infection? I've read & heard that there are nerve's up there that can effect your equallibrium (sp) or ur balance that can lead to so many things???

This is truly a Mystery and i wish you a future free of Pain!

I hope the Doctors can find what's causing your problem! So i ditto almost everyone on the thread! KEEP FIGHTING endlessky!

i think i finally got a DR who figured it out, he thinks i'ts my Gall ballder, the ultrasound showd a samll gall stone, but he think's i have Gall baldder desease and wants to take it out soon, cause i am so sick i could not do the HIDA scan, i;m running 101 fevers and thrwing up all day, their going to put me the hospital if i don't get better, their sending me to the surgean, to seewhat test he wants, the HIda scan will make me sick as a dog, my partner had one and she came out all sick and sweating and i had to drive home and put her to bed, and she's healthy, i cannot do CT scans due to the dye, they did some many at stanford that my liver stopped filtureing it, and they use dye in this sacn, i told him i did not want to do itm he promised me it would not hurt me, but i know better!! te last time i had dye it knockd out te antiboctic i use for my brain infection and they gave me 6 mo's to a year to live!! Tthank God that UCSF had one more , and i have been on it for te last 4 years, if i do this scan i run te risk of it not working and i go right back to 6 mo's to a year, due to my ammionia level will rise and will not stop and i will get demmia and then coma, what fun!! so i don't want to do it te risks are to high and there ;s got to be another way,, i was going, and very hair stood up on my body trying tell me not to go, and i just started to vomit all over te place , the dr think's i have dye phobia, no just i don't want to be sick phobia, is more like it, why don't they trsut me , it's my body, i don't get it at all, but they need to repair my hernia too, same sugean, wonder if he'll kill to bird;s with one surgery, i kinda hope so, cause i don't want to do this again anyway right now everything is at a stand still, their mad cause i didn;t do the scan and i cancelled it and it cost the hospitol 300 buck's twice and they got mad and called my DR and asked wy i didn't go, well we called his wife at 630 in te mornning and told her i was vomiting and running a fever of 101 and she called it off, i was dressed and still going to go do it, cause they were not giveing me another choice and they needed it to move forward with the surgery. and now nothing, just me sick and waiting for tem to call me with a different scan or a referal to the surgean to top evrything eles off i got consipated from the new med they gave me for nausea, and i pulled my musel again, by my ribs this time it poped, and when i bent over it poped again and i can;t breath, or smoke my meds. i can't even move, i keep putting hot compresses on it , i was up all nite putting those on, cause it just hurts so much, i have to go lay down , just wanted to update everyone!! see ya and oh yes get this, i have called my theapist onece a week for three week and she won't call me back, i get a call last nite from the head guy at mental health, about how my theapist asked hm to talk to me, so he tells me i no longer qualify for their service , and that she said that i was not in need of any more tharpy regarding my PTSD and my Borderline personality disorder, don't just love labels, anyway, i told him i pretty much agree with that, but what i do need is help with leaning how to live with dying, and going threw all the losses i have, like driveing, sex, normal movemenat and whats it like to watch my self wasting away alittle more at atime is sometimes hard for me to deal with te anger and pain of my son being mad and not talking to me for 5 years cause he's mad i;m sick,, not to mention dealing multipule diagnoses, is not easy, and i can't take their meds due to liver faliture, so i expalained everything to him, and he said well she didn;t tell me that, and thats alot to deal with, so he said he would talk with htis other guy and get back to me, my thEAPIST BACK STABBED ME MAN!!! Bit---, she just got pissed off at me for call te patients right activist and i got her in trouble, well maybe se should not have treated me badly huh, i not just going to take abuse of of anyone expecially someone i am paying. in a sence, she works for me!!, so i'm going to ask for an invesatgtion into her, i wonder ow many others are like me , i know three other people who have fired her, anyway have to go, thanks for all the kind word's , see ya soon Endlesssky:partysmile:
