Just heard that Richard Wright of Pink Floyd lost his battle with cancer today. How sad. This band and it's music was and has always been a huge part of my life, not only growing up as a teen but even now as I learn more and more about music and the guitar. What a sad loss...:disappointed:

Maybe one of you more tech-savvy Trackers can throw up "Dark side of the moon" (a song Wright penned.) from You Tube. Thanks. I'm a tard.

Pink Floyd is more than just a rock band. Like Shankar said, Richard can be re-united with Syd Barrett.

For some reason I think Shankar is referring to Yah-wey! The big guy.

Actually, my friend, I believe Roger Waters wrote Shine on You Crazy Diamond as a tribute to Syd Barrett. It was interesting when I saw Pink Floyd in 1975. Wish You Were Here was not out yet, and the band had not toured after Dark Side. The first half of the show was material from Wish, and since nobody had heard it yet the crowd got restless and some even booed. I distinctly remember Shine On, it was the end of the first set, and was amazing. During the intermission the faint heartbeat started, and kept getting louder. They then brought down the house with the full Dark Side album, complete with the same great backup singing ladies who got a rousing ovation. Great show!!!

you're one hundred percent right Bratton - he wrote it as a tribute to Syd.

This is very sad news... Like Farmer said - PF was a huge influence on me as well. I can't even tell ya how much i loved em!

Well bro - everyone has the ENTIRE freaking CD instead of just the song... i could post the whole CD for ya but i think you just wanted the one song, right?

wow that's so sad to hear. I was privliged enough to see roger waters from pink floyd this year at COACHELLA. Now that experience just become even closer to my heart. Long live Pink Floyd!

Did they ever say they were going to re-unite? I hope they do. I saw Pink Floyd 5 times with the whole band, and those were some of the best concerts I have ever seen.

May God bless his soul, as Richard had blessed mine!! Pink Floyd s sounds and Lyrics have helped me through some rough times.. I am a True fan and will always have deep respect and gratitude towards all members of the Band!!

I'm so sad. One of my favorite all time bands and at least I saw them once. It was the Momentary lapse of reason tour without Waters but it was a great show. I sat 10th row center and just was blown away. I was hoping for a reunion tour but sadly now that will not happen. At 4:20 today I will light up and first play Wish you were hear and then Dark side one of the all time great albums. Thank you Ricky for the great memories. Another Angel is playing in the stars. RIP.
