| Re: What Strains Work Best For Migraines And Brain Tumors? Gamma knife surgery is good for brain tumors. Better than cannabis. Also broken arms are better treated with a cast, not a bowl. Isn't it wiser to treat the problem rather than a symptom? |

That sucks Walla. I wish there were some way to deal with it more actively. Till then, keep doing whatever it is that helps. I was having horrid headaches, sleeping with my head wrapped in ice packs, it was not cool. Recovery from the surgery has been an experience I wouldn't wish on anyone though and it too has it's serious down sides. Hang in there! Insanvsattva

also migraines aren't caused by caffeine - they use caffeine as one of the ingredients in numerous migraine medications to alleviate the migraine. i have insomnia - it has nothing to do with what i've ingested... it is a mental state. try cutting back on the coffee. (or sodas) much love spacey

Rep Power: 0 | Re: What Strains Work Best For Migraines And Brain Tumors? This is great. My wife deals with migraines, and has tried everything ...and so far...nothing has worked. This is a great resource. I will be back in a minute, with a compilation of all of the posts and try to find a consensus. But I am finding that trial and error is the best route so far. |

| Re: What Strains Work Best For Migraines And Brain Tumors? Headband , works great for headaches as it relives stress and tension . I kind of believe some strains can cause headaches or don't help at all . |

Rep Power: 5262 | Re: What Strains Work Best For Migraines And Brain Tumors? Patients have told me Mazar has helped tremendously with migraines and insomnia. Any Indica strain with an 18% or higher THC level should work well. |

Rep Power: 1447 | Re: What Strains Work Best For Migraines And Brain Tumors? for migraines you want sativas... The best and quickest relief will be immediately found in strains with no CBD and high levels of THC. It is very difficult to find strains with solely THC because of all the cross breading done over the years but you should find a shop that tests for the THC levels. If you message me I'll tell you one I know of. I think the best way to go is to do a mixed bowl of a very "heady" sativa, such as Lambs Bread or French Cheese, and a purple with a high THC level, like Platinum Grape Ape or High Times Purple Kush. Or you can smoke one or a few of each like I do lol... and that should not only provide you with immediate relief but will give you the body relaxant the sativa didn't have. ALSO! Please beware, each batch of EVERY strain comes out with a different THC/CBD balance so be sure that when you do find a shop with the levels up there you ask if they test each batch :) |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: What Strains Work Best For Migraines And Brain Tumors? So, all in all it seems that there is no general consensus. Each person has different reactions to different strains. I have gathered a quick and dirty line up of all the responses in this post as well as any others I found on Migraines on this site. My wrap up is at the end if you want to skip to it. General These are strains with no names. Where a member suggested a species over a particular culture (or brand name) A negative means that the member stated to stay away from the species and a plus, well it means it was suggested. Sativas: - - - +++++++ Indicas: - - ++++++ Hybrids: ++ ( there was a note to be careful) MADE THEM FEEL WORSE: a-z order This is fun. Here are some strains that members suggested that people avoid. However, if you read further …others suggested these strains. **All names here were mentioned at least once. I added a ‘+’ symbol for each additional mention of a strain. -------------------------------------------------- Diesels+ Purps+ Snowcaps Train Wrecks YAY!!! Suggestions: a-z order Here we go … the suggestions. As you can see, some of these were mentioned above. I did not negate them because of that, I listed them as mentioned. If a general strain was mentioned I listed it alphabetically. So OG Kush falls after OG as a general suggestion. But Kush is ALSO a general strain suggestion. Like above, these have a ‘+’ symbol for each additional mention of a particular strain. Also if a strain has a * in front of it; it means the member was especially enthusiastic. ------------------------------------------------ AFWRECK Bubbas Chemdog (91) DJ Shorts Blueberry G-d's Gift+ Grapefruit. Green Crack* Blue Dream Grand Daddy purp ++ JackFflash Jack Herer + Headband + Masters OG Strains + OG KUSH OG Herojuana Kushs LA Confidential * NYC Diesel Purple Kush Platinums Platinum Bubba* Platinum Sour D Skywalker OG Snocap Super Silver Haze Trainwreck Wallawalla Hussein One thing that kept popping up in the responses was the issue of Vaping. Not one person said don’t vape . This was an agreement by all who mentioned it. At one point it was a doctor recommend. Edibles were also mentioned positively. The only drawback being wait time. And when you hurt, wait time is a drag. ------------------- Whats the wrap up? Well ~ It seems you have to try it and see. I am leaning toward trying ONLY the ones that have a plus sign next to them The more they have…the first in line they are. Also, I bought a vaporizer. So, The contenders are: Grand Daddy purp ++ OG Strains + OG Kush (it has OG and Kush both suggested generally) Jack Herer + Headband + G-d’s Gift + Anecdotally, we have had GREAT success with Honey infused with Sour Diesel. Does it get rid of the pain? Dunno~ but for my wife, it knocks her out. Sleepy time. And sleep= no headache. Yay sleep. |
