Re: Weekly Check In

RE: Wt Anonymous & Ivy's post #50. Ivy you said it all so well. Though we all have unique situations and levels of depression, there are common threads. You description hit the nail on the head for me. The fact drugs (FDA or "approved" by the feds in other ways) are out there, they REQUIRE DAILY intake and sometimes they just stop working. Therapy helps too, but only while you are THERE. MMJ is so helpful in that I can CHOOSE when to use, and regulate the quantity. The only problem is the price and access to quality meds. The govt. will pay to keep the drug companies in business, but they have no interest in actually helping patients.

Re: Weekly Check In

we have all experienced depression at one time or another. this time last year i was diagnosed with hodgkins disease i was prescribed nortiptyline for anxiety and depression. the nortiptyline had me so spaced out i could not do anything. a yogi friend of mine told me exorcize and meds would be a better way to deal with it. it was hard to motivate myself at first once i got started i did not want to stop. fortunately my diagnoses was for stage one with a 94% recovery rate. three months ago i was deemed in remission. this holiday season will be better. hang in there do not let the season get you down i am pulling for you
peace and be well easy

I have suffered through serious depression to a point I became catatonic.
Couldnt even cry anylonger. Suicide was an option I tried and failed thank god
I with the help of a friend checked into a mental hospital.
I mean I had no Idea why i was feeling the way I was..pushing people out of my life to see if they would actually leave.
I post alot here and chose to post anonymously becouse I dont share too much of the scary stuff in my world.
I try to stay positive.

Seems a whole lot of us have that trait. I think it's something we can attempt to manage, because I have a difficult time believing that there isn't something redeeming about it - to a point. Holding back entirely isn't going to lead to prosperity but certain times and situations do call for discretion.

In order to keep fit and comfortable, I exercise my body. In attempting to keep my emotional health fit, I excercise it as well. In order to prevent injury, we have to know our limits, which can be exhausting to reach but wholly fulfilling, maybe even cathartic once we do.

I wish you moderation, Anonymous. Feel better. You're not alone at all.

I wish everybody catharsis and comfort during what can be a difficult time of year for a friggin' plethora of reasons.

There's always so much emphasis on reflection during this time of year and for some of us, this can be a bit like walking on broken eggshells.

Prosperity to all of you.

Exercise (weight training) helps me as does a balanced diet. I've been eating fruits, vegetables, nuts, chicken and fish. Diet and exercise have changed my overall heath both mentally and physically.

I'm very, very grateful that you posted. I accidentally repped the anonymous bot for you :) Yes, thank God, Goddess, Allah, Buddha, whomever, that your depression has lessened. I do have to admit that at the words "scary stuff" you struck a deep chord. It is scary, fucking stuff. I may be off in using vulgar language but it is incredibly hard to convey how painful, how frightening, and fatal some of these mental conditions can be.

Yet, the miraculous ways we overcome some of our mental obstacles is just as intriguing as the intensity of the pain we endure. The human condition and the expanse of emotion is beyond words.

I can't provide much more advice that what has been posted above me. What a wonderful demonstration of support and unity in this forum. I'm very proud of to be apart of this board, with posters such as yourselves

Whoopie went to the Doc this week and she told me she actually heard air moving in my lungs, no one has heard anything on the right side for probably 10 years. She said she heard it everywhere. I have now had 4 infusions compliments of the drug company. Finished a clinical trial and my breathing is actually 1% better. Since getting infusions I have gone from 9% to 17% and really am feeling better. Maybe Buddha is having a good effect on me and the Labmaster as well. Holiday blessings to all.

i have been so sick lately that i have gotten depressed , i haven't been out of the house in months due to my illness, last year my liver dr told me to do a liver flush or i would die, so i went to my pysch, dr and she disagreed and tried to increase them, like respaidol and trazadone and to many to mention, but the dr before and i were trying to cut back as far as we could go, and you see that in the records and you also see how she falsified records to say i never caompalanied about side effects, since my frist visit i said we have to slowly come off these meds, she refused so, i had to do AMA, after 3 days off i had still had side effects like all that shcking that goes on and you can;t stop so the supid dr rushes in the office who i have never seen before and gives this pill and says take it, it will take away those shackes, so i do!!! it was cogentin, and he gave me enough for a normal function liver and i went into over dose and they , they truned their back on me and i had to to the er who didn;t want to help you may ask why? causes i stopped my meds AMA, so i went home and threw up all nite and all day with the shack's they never even cared, nowi call my thearpist to tell her i;m haveing a hard time with all this depresstion and illness, cause they keep changeing my diagnosis, and now they want to give me insulin, now they told i had Addisons and i had to go on pridnazone and now insulin, for dieabetics, well i pray am i, i asked my diagnosis and they say Addison well that drops my blood sugar and insulin brings it down. so if i have Addisons giveing me insulin could kill me what if it keeps going down, i just don;t fell right about this at all very nervous like it doesn;t fit into the puzzel right!! i love my dr but it won'r change the fact that i will not trust them at all see ya,, Endlesssky

Re: Weekly Check In

uhhh skye, u need to get a new dr. even if it means starting all over again. And always take a small tape recorder and inform the dr u r taping everything due to ur condition. any good dr would not be intimidated by any recorder. i use one when i to go to the VA. Or take someone with u, like ur signifigant other. To every visit. Now if there is something wrong, they should work with u hands down. If there is nothing wrong, yes the docs r going to give u a hard time. If the proof is there, they WILL help. If not best find another doc.
i have compassion for ya skye and sorry to hear anyone having to go through crap like u say u have in the past.
So my prayers are with you. it's free...

Hello everyone,

I just want to take the time to thank those who have welcomed me to the WT family. I've been so paranoid and suffer from social anxiety due to my loss of hearing...I haven't been out of the house in months. I wish you all a healthy and blessed 2008.

Peace and Love,

Smile Re: Weekly Check In

I've been waiting MONTHS to be able to post this:

Some of my close WTer buddies have known that this past fall/winter was completely rough for me. The worst I've had since I was first diagnosed. But luckily I always knew it was possible that this day was possible. I guess that's an advantage to being a bit of a 'seasoned' vet with mental illness. Past experience tells us that "this too shall pass".

So the only thing that has me feeling a bit down is just a nasty, long drawn out cold. How sweet is that? Welcome 2008! I love you already! Hope everyone is doing a bit better!

Yours,

MRT

I thank you all and wish everyone well and am happy to have found this website and my new heros who fight the battles of living every day in every way. Peace out and Blessings to all. Now medicated and happy, maybe bi polar on speed from coffee overdose

Keep writing Joyce. We are here for each other. I certainly empathize with you, on having a hard time seeing the bright side of things. It may seem pathetic and cliche' to say "..it could be worse,..." but, it really could. Medicating helps be in the here and now, and helps me focus on the positive things in my life. I hope better outcomes continue your way.
Love, Maria
