Rep Power: 159 | Re: Weekly Check In RE: Wt Anonymous & Ivy's post #50. Ivy you said it all so well. Though we all have unique situations and levels of depression, there are common threads. You description hit the nail on the head for me. The fact drugs (FDA or "approved" by the feds in other ways) are out there, they REQUIRE DAILY intake and sometimes they just stop working. Therapy helps too, but only while you are THERE. MMJ is so helpful in that I can CHOOSE when to use, and regulate the quantity. The only problem is the price and access to quality meds. The govt. will pay to keep the drug companies in business, but they have no interest in actually helping patients. Last edited by mariathelion9; 12-09-2007 at 10:05 AM.. Reason: spelling |

Rep Power: 22 | Re: Weekly Check In we have all experienced depression at one time or another. this time last year i was diagnosed with hodgkins disease i was prescribed nortiptyline for anxiety and depression. the nortiptyline had me so spaced out i could not do anything. a yogi friend of mine told me exorcize and meds would be a better way to deal with it. it was hard to motivate myself at first once i got started i did not want to stop. fortunately my diagnoses was for stage one with a 94% recovery rate. three months ago i was deemed in remission. this holiday season will be better. hang in there do not let the season get you down i am pulling for you peace and be well |

Suicide was an option I tried and failed thank god I with the help of a friend checked into a mental hospital. I mean I had no Idea why i was feeling the way I was..pushing people out of my life to see if they would actually leave. I post alot here and chose to post anonymously becouse I dont share too much of the scary stuff in my world. I try to stay positive. I feel for you all..and I hope and pray you all find something to make it better.. WT is the perfect place to go. Thank god my depression has lessend and I am no longer a self imposed shut in. Its a very brave thing asking for help. Love to all of my brothers and sisters in pain |

Rep Power: 4230 | Re: Weekly Check In Seems a whole lot of us have that trait. I think it's something we can attempt to manage, because I have a difficult time believing that there isn't something redeeming about it - to a point. Holding back entirely isn't going to lead to prosperity but certain times and situations do call for discretion. In order to keep fit and comfortable, I exercise my body. In attempting to keep my emotional health fit, I excercise it as well. In order to prevent injury, we have to know our limits, which can be exhausting to reach but wholly fulfilling, maybe even cathartic once we do. I wish you moderation, Anonymous. Feel better. You're not alone at all. I wish everybody catharsis and comfort during what can be a difficult time of year for a friggin' plethora of reasons. There's always so much emphasis on reflection during this time of year and for some of us, this can be a bit like walking on broken eggshells. Prosperity to all of you. |

Yet, the miraculous ways we overcome some of our mental obstacles is just as intriguing as the intensity of the pain we endure. The human condition and the expanse of emotion is beyond words. I can't provide much more advice that what has been posted above me. What a wonderful demonstration of support and unity in this forum. I'm very proud of to be apart of this board, with posters such as yourselves | |

Rep Power: 83623 | Whoopie went to the Doc this week and she told me she actually heard air moving in my lungs, no one has heard anything on the right side for probably 10 years. She said she heard it everywhere. I have now had 4 infusions compliments of the drug company. Finished a clinical trial and my breathing is actually 1% better. Since getting infusions I have gone from 9% to 17% and really am feeling better. Maybe Buddha is having a good effect on me and the Labmaster as well. Holiday blessings to all. |

| Re: Weekly Check In uhhh skye, u need to get a new dr. even if it means starting all over again. And always take a small tape recorder and inform the dr u r taping everything due to ur condition. any good dr would not be intimidated by any recorder. i use one when i to go to the VA. Or take someone with u, like ur signifigant other. To every visit. Now if there is something wrong, they should work with u hands down. If there is nothing wrong, yes the docs r going to give u a hard time. If the proof is there, they WILL help. If not best find another doc. i have compassion for ya skye and sorry to hear anyone having to go through crap like u say u have in the past. So my prayers are with you. it's free... Rep Power: 1905224 | yup, greetings and love from the atlantic coast! hope your holidays went well. i got this idea from an article in the new york times- everyone went to times square with a list of regrets/sorrow/pain/etc. and they did a massive paper shredding event. thought it would be a cute idea for the get together i'll be at tomorrow night :) |

Rep Power: 1905224 | I've been waiting MONTHS to be able to post this: Some of my close WTer buddies have known that this past fall/winter was completely rough for me. The worst I've had since I was first diagnosed. But luckily I always knew it was possible that this day was possible. I guess that's an advantage to being a bit of a 'seasoned' vet with mental illness. Past experience tells us that "this too shall pass". So the only thing that has me feeling a bit down is just a nasty, long drawn out cold. How sweet is that? Welcome 2008! I love you already! Hope everyone is doing a bit better! Yours, MRT |
