Rep Power: 14922 | people have been/ARE so ignorant to mental illness. I have been sick since I was 6 after some rather harsh circumstances.. blah blah blah.. and all my life everyone has said "your crazy" or "shes crazy" a doctor at the er told my boyfriend (at the time) I wasn't crazy after he used that terminology to describe my mood swings and the way I deal with life and stress.. the doc Promptly corrected him. he said "no shes not crazy, you see that guy next to her.. he has voices from god telling him to jump out in front of cars, thats crazy." "she's undiagnosed and not properly treated." so stop calling people who are simply sick and lost in this cluster fuck of a world crazy! |

We all have ups and downs and its unfortionate that alot of times we are seen in the down times. I've had my own bouts with inner issues, they still continue and probably will for the rest of my life, but all we can do is live. |

Rep Power: 1699 | Re: sickness/craziness there is so much stigma about mental illness, i was misdiganosed for 18 years and put on meds and threaten to be put away if i didn't take them, and i have already been chained and locked down in county in colorado, and hospital 3 diffent times and given more than 10 to 15 kinds of phycotropics that made me act nuts from the side effects i had to put my 3 year old son in foster care, but they never really diagnosed me bordreline bipolardisorder. and now that was in 89 2 years ago i had to do a liver flush to save my life and had to stop all meds and i came off the mental health meds and my suagr started to fall and i almost died, it tured out that i have Addisons diisease, which gone untreated it is fatal, now i have so many diganosed, to many to count,, it's Hep c and liver Cirrohous of the liver and now they think i have cancer of the liver, and then Addisons and the meds for that made me diabectic and hypoglcmic then hemp B missing 2 clotting factors from my blood. i just had my gallbaldder taken out, it was the size of a softball, but they tooka great picture of my liver, and it's all lumpy and scared up real bad it doesn't look like i don;t have much time left!! and it hurts like hell, i can;t breath, they just put me on duludid, morphine doesn't work well for me and 280 mg of oxycontin a day,, my primary care who has been takeing very good care of me and one of the best DR i have even met, a very close secund to my father who was also a DR, well he diganosed me not bipolar and it;s the Addisons and i don;t have the same problems and it; the Addisons leaves me with no hormones to handle stress and adrenal failure. |

(or perhaps I look way to much into this) Honestly the brain is so advanced and there is so little that we know about it, especially the public.. people dont know how to react. I vomited for 4 years every morning, and one day it just stopped... all on its own. What did my friends say "man your just a little crazy".. thanks.. after all that. I learned it just best to roll your eyes and sarcastically respond "oh ok". |

Rep Power: 36928 | Re: sickness/craziness Many of us are plagued with these infirmities through heredity or environmental circumstances. We struggle. Lots of folks fall into that catagory and there is nothing funny about it. You aren't alone, my friend. You aren't crazy or weird, just trying to understand and cope. Don't be afraid to talk about it, cause you'll always find someone to share your burden here. I use anti-anxiety drugs and mmj to keep me in check. Without both of them I really struggle to stay afloat. My best to you. Hang tough, and don't take the hurt words personally. You are by no means alone. |
