Rep Power: 3186 | Seasonal Depression Just wanted to know if anyone else here gets their depression in the Spring Time, like I do. I feel it coming on usually in Feb and ends at the end of June. Right now, I'm smoking tons of hash to keep it at bay, and taking pharms, and it's working great, but I know it's still around. It really hits me around April. Anybody else get their depression in a yearly cycle like me? How do you deal with it? Mine's not really situational, mostly seasonal. Any info appreciated. |

Hits me in the springtime too, but not quite as hard. After living on the other coast for 35 years, the last few years out here my body/mind want to reset to the different seasons, but the change is so minimal here I think it makes my system "hiccup". Plus I see the few foliage trees you have out here sorta change color and I actually feel bad for them... good try though. And as you can see by my ramblings..... the springtime depression has started kicking in. Hang in there.. you're not alone. |

Rep Power: 1151 | Re: Seasonal Depression I suffer from seasonal depression to an extreme! But all you need is sunlight, even if it is artificial. If you can the best thing is a grow room, well it worked for me :) :) Build your own and start growing or visit a friend's if possible. Also very bad for your skin but a tanning bed also works really well in a pinch. I hope this helps a few :) Peace KMG |

I know that exercise really helps me with positive mental attitude, just hard to motivate when your depressed....but we almost always feel better after we do. | |

Rep Power: 466 | Re: Seasonal Depression Smokus, I have Dysthymia, which is a low grade depression. It is aggravated in Spring. I believe it has to do with my sinuses. Sinus problems can cause fatigue which will aggravate depression. I took SAMe [not related to sinus problem] and it worked great, but I had to choose between MMJ and SAMe due to financial constaints. I would take the advice of plenty of sun and exercise. Go to a leafy green diet - go RAW. This will boost your immune system. Our immune system is constantly going to battle for us. I've heard that we are attacked by at least one cancer cell every day. A strong immune system will keep us from running down and will be a boost to our balance and energy levels. Keep a journal to check were stress is coming from in your life. Most of our issues with depression come from a competitive industrial society that says "more, more, more..." Is it possible that your workload is more severe in spring? Keep a joyful outlook on life. We have the power to choose our own thoughts (cognitive behavioral modification can be a very helpful tool). Although there is no practical application to the following information, it makes me hopeful that we are getting closer to understanding what causes depression:http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/...n2053537.shtml *NAME IT, CLAIM IT, CONQUER IT* (Sorry to be preachy, I just hate depression and hope we can all find a way to overcome it)! |
