Rep Power: 131 | Need a Psychiatrist in Long Beach area Good am guys, I have a bi polar patient who is looking for a good psychiatrist who is MMJ friendly in the Long Beach and surrounding areas. He already has a rec from one of the doctors but wants to have a consultation with a psychiatrist to affirm his rec. Thank you in advance, |

Rep Power: 556076 | Re: Need a Psychiatrist in Long Beach area Hi, First off, are you looking for a Psychiatrist that will be supportive of your MMJ use or someone that will just be able to confirm your diagnosis? The former is way more difficult to find than the latter. I went here and tried to find someone in your area but didn't pull up any matches. I'm not anywhere near your area so I don't have any good suggestions for you but, I do have one tip that may be useful- try contacting one your local colleges like CSU-Long Beach. You could swing by their Psych Counseling Center in their Student Health Center and ask for a handout of recommendations. Schools are a great resource for referrals as those professionals aren't paying to advertise and come at the recommendation of respected people in the local community. That's what I did when I went to HSU and CSUS and I was pretty happy :) (And here is a link to an article with tips on how to find and approach your new doctor). Good Luck! |

Rep Power: 131 | Re: Need a Psychiatrist in Long Beach area Thanks for your response MRT! Basically my patient is bipolar and wants to see a psych to reinforce his claim that he needs to use it when he faces the judge. Apparently, he needs to go under drug testing for his probation. His probation is totally unrelated to drugs though.. He does not abuse drugs at all. We only deliver an eighth to him every month if that. thanks, |
