Rep Power: 304691 | OK, I know it's old-fashioned and cheesy as all hell, but when I'm feeling down at Xmas time, I gotta give "White Christmas" a chance to lift my spirits. And you know Spacey, it has been a tough year, but this morning you have a good eye, you have papa and the crew, and you have Rose. That sounds pretty blessed to me! Yay for Christmas! happyholidays to all! ![]() |

Rep Power: 127208 | Re: depreszion and the Holidays We got your back, Spaceman! My wife and I agreed decades ago to not exchange holiday gifts. Takes away some of the pressure. Her mental illness revolves around family get-togethers, so today and tomorrow are high alert times for blow-ups. I have warned the kids, but they never listen to advice from the old man. |

I am also feeling the crunch this year and have'nt seen things this bad for my trade since "92" and have been fighting to keep afloat since April. So we are Having a very low keyed Christmas this Year .Good thing for love & side jobs! Please remember that Your Wife has you & you have her. That, In my eyes, is (one of) the greatest gifts ever in itself.( Ya know,I sat & thought about it for a long time & Just thinking about what you are going through makes me truely feel for you My brother. This is very scary & serious. When I turned 40 I used to actually think it was kinda funny that my visoin was going blurry at certain times. But now that it has/is getting worse I dont think it is funny at all We are Truely wishing & Hoping for the best for you & yours & please know that you are loved by Many, Many people (us included) and always will be. Thank you for your Friendship Spacey! I truely hope you feel better.

| Could not agree with you more US. However all these wonderful WT friends you have made throughout the year are a huge gift. Your wife is lucky to have your love, and most of all happy you are on the mend, and healthy. Not to mention you are loved back by her, and others (like W and me) Best, pic4daze |

| Re: depreszion and the Holidays Major bummer Space Brain,. Don't feel too lonely, as this year many of us are faced with having little to no money as the economy has it's head up it's own proverbial butt. Fear not as Money really can't buy you happiness,. ~ sometimes the most thoughtful gifts come from the heart. Happy Holidays, Take care and be good! |

Rep Power: 261063 | Re: depreszion and the Holidays i love everyone, and i'm gonna blow this thread up with love and truth..!! depression is seperation from self, and once in awhile it's good to escape to a place "out of tune" with ourselfs (..?!?), but only for contrast.... then, it's back to creating our realitys in a way that is suppotive to ourselves. ask yourself, self, are you a person who is depressed or uplifted..?!? are you an uplifted person who is having a depressed contrast..?!? or are you a depressed person whom is having a uplifted contrast..?!? this time of year is strange, because man has confused the season also if uncomfortable feelings come up about family during the holidays, guess what..?!? it is now your new responsibility to yourself to clear these matters up, and not during the holidays..!!! give yourself a break this year, and become the creator you came here to be..!!! and quit being influenced by outside energys that do not behoove you......easy as 1 2 3 tune in tap in turn on |

Rep Power: 36928 | Re: depreszion and the Holidays Spacey, we're all here for you. When I think back, there were good holiday seasons and some bad. Many times I can honestly say that "I" was the reason for the bad ones, but now, when I think about it, I learned something during those times. It's part of our existence as humans. Struggling with depression and/or anxiety literally drains the joy from life...saps it like a parasite. My man, folks are inspired by your wit, and think a great deal of you. You're lucky dude. That in itself is a blessing. So many folks are hurting and pinched this year as never before. Personally I can't remember a worse time in my life, but we must just keep putting one foot before the other and keep going. My prayer is that you realize the blessing of those in your life who love you. That pays dividends that are priceless. God bless. |

These two hit the nail right on the head... We are both old enough now to begin to understand the things that are ACTUALLY important... The material gifts are nice, they are fun, but the real gifts come from the heart, and there is NOTHING more priceless This is a tough season for me. Most of my Vietnam related PTSD revolves around incidents from November to the first week of February, so I usually get pensive this time of year, thoughtful if not depressed... This year, well it is a bit tougher. This will be my first Christmas without both my parents, Mom passed a couple years ago, and Dad passed last Jan 14th. The house really seems empty. We were a very close, tight knit family. That is hard, but a "normal" part of life, if things go right, we DO outlive our parents, it is the way things are supposed to work... And that is another reason I am having a tough time, my childhood, neighborhood friend, passed last week. She had no previous health issues, wasnt feeling well, so she made an appt and went to her Doctor's office... she was in the waiting room and died of a massive heart attack before they could do a thing... Her 77 year old mother is devastated, and talking to HER just adds to my heartbreak. These things are all part of life. I can be very philosophical about it, but it doesn't seem to lessen the knot in my throat, or the empty feeling in my heart. I keep reminding myself of the positive sides of things... I AM blessed, I have had life long friends, people who have been solid for me for 40 years and more... I still drink beer with some of the same guys I drank beer with in high school.... now, instead of talking about the girls we wanted to "date", we talk about grand kids.... and who we hope they WONT date.... I will be OK, and I want to thank all of you folks for being part of WHY I know I will be OK... Happy Holidays Weedtrackers. Hug each other for me, OK? Love to you all!
