Ventura MMJ meeting next week!

Next Wednesday, October 10, Safe Access Now will be hosting a meeting to help Ventura County's medical cannabis patients effectively advocate for local
implementation of California's medical marijuana laws.

Ventura County is not complying state law by offering California's medical marijuana ID cards and due to the lack of medical cannabis dispensaries in the county, many local patients are forced into the black market to obtain their medicine. With the help of local patients and advocates, we can turn things around in Ventura County.

Please plan to attend this important meeting to find out how you can help improve the lives of local medical marijuana patients.

What: Ventura County Medical Marijuana Town Hall Meeting

When: Wednesday, October 10, 2007 – 6:30 to 8:00pm

Where: E. P. Foster Library
651 East Main Street, Ventura, CA 93001
(between Chestnut and Fir in Downtown Ventura)
(805) 648-2716

Map: http://tinyurl.com/2j23ta

To RSVP or request more information, contact Safe Access Now at (866) 287-6792 or safeaccessnow@gmail.com.

Sincerely,

Aaron Smith

This should help Ventura County safe access and be a way for patients in the area to focus their energies into actions.

Re: Ventura MMJ meeting next week!

Yes, Ventura County still refuses to fully comply with SB420, using the State/Federal conflict as an excuse. This excuse is wearing thin and if San Diego does not appeal their case against State to the Supreme Court by 5pm, 9th September 2008, Ventura County, along with other non-compliant Counties will need to immediately start implementing SB420: the ID Card Program, allowing dispensaries, etc.

Ventura County patients now need to organize and prepare to demand their rights of non-interference from law enforcement and our right to safe access to medicine by bringing our cause to the County Supervisors and City Councils. If we hope to play an active part in formulating policy we need to take a pro-active stance.

We need as many Ventura County patients as possible to attend a public meeting scheduled for 9 September at the meeting room of the E.P Foster Libarary at 651 East Main Street, Ventura, 7pm-9pm. The room has handicap access.

It is vital that Ventura County patients now organize and act to assure our rights to safe access. We will soon release more info and resources at www.420Ventura.com

For info, or to help the cause, please contact info@420ventura.com
ASA members are urged to contact us before the meeting at info@420ventura.com

Please attend!

I live In Ventura County and manage to get my medicine at a club less than 10 mls away .. So to go to the streets for medicine is not always the best choice..

Ventura needs to wake up to state regulated laws that the people have voted on and passed.

The 9th September meeting is a preliminary to going to the County Board of Supervisors with a wake-up call that neglecting their duty is causing significant hardship, pain and suffering for thousands of patients.

Sounds like you are in Westlake Village or Simi Valley if you need to travel only 10 miles (to SFV?). Most VC residents live in the Camarillo/Oxnard/Venture region and have to travel greater distances -- esp. since all SB dispensaries are being evicted.

BTW, would someone please give me some rep points so I can start a new thread on this. Thanks
