Rep Power: 0 | Proposed Ordinance would ban edibles Not to mention over the counter sales. It's time the law be amended to make it crystal clear what the voters wanted...safe access to medical marijuana. This must include language that permits the creation of dispensaries for the explicit purpose of selling medical marijuana. Otherwise, the City Council can basically dangle the medicine in front of you but you won't be able to ever grab it. Los Angeles City Council to rush vote on medical pot law -- latimes.com |

Rep Power: 4551 | Re: Proposed Ordinance would ban edibles For two years, the City Council has stuck its head in the sand instead of dealing with needed regulations. Now because of irate Neighborhood Council members and national publicity, the Council is being stampeded in a direction that will hurt many of us. We are going to be taking two steps back unless we can turn this herd around. I had been sitting on the fence about legalization but no longer. Now I am going to study the three legalization initiatives and decide which is best for me and to heck with any unintended consequences. |

Rep Power: 982 | Re: Proposed Ordinance would ban edibles Sweet. Let's cut off the form of mmj consumption that the sickest of the sick need the most. Morons! It's becoming so obvious that the council supports the Mexican cartels, and will do everything in their power to keep the support up. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Proposed Ordinance would ban edibles The laws are taking their course and evolving as long as we keep moving forward. Do we need more rules and regulations maybe I would like to know my edible was held up to a certain standard at least it would be nice to know that someone washed their hands before they made my edible. On the other hand I don't like that the state is trying to find ways to muscle in on the business and find ways to make money by creating these laws. |

Rep Power: 45369 | Re: Proposed Ordinance would ban edibles A Quote from Article: "The ordinance could effectively outlaw most dispensaries in the city by prohibiting sales of medical marijuana. Both City Atty. Carmen Trutanich and Los Angeles County Dist. Atty. Steve Cooley maintain that state law does not allow over-the-counter sales, though they say collectives owned by the members are allowed to recoup their expenses. Dispensary operators say the sales, usually in 1/8 -ounce increments, are meant to cover their operating costs." Without the sales how is the state going to collect there sales tax. Or did the city forgot about that source of the states income or they don't care They can't collect taxes if nobody sells watch that piss off the state. "The state's requirement that they operate as collectively-run nonprofits." Anyone know if They can even collect sales tax from a non-profit store? Rep Power: 3453 | Re: Proposed Ordinance would ban edibles Why would you ban the healthiest form of marijuana there is? The only possible negative effects from smoking are what it does to your lungs but if you just use edibles then you have yourself a perfectly healthy medicine. I'll always have my edibles, I enjoy making my own anyway :p |

Rep Power: 5168 | Re: Proposed Ordinance would ban edibles Banning Edibles is just the city's way of saying we're to stupid/lazy/broke to implement a system to ensure the quality of edibles. I forget in which forum i saw this picture, but it was of an edible with cat hair sticking out the side. It was followed by another picture of an edible with plastic found inside it. If in fact our sickest patients need edibles then they should be held to a higher standard. They should be ensured clean and free of harmful harmful substances. How many of you know where the trim/shake for the edibles you eat come from? If it came from plants grown outdoors there is a good possibility the plant matter has some sort of animal or insect feces mixed in. 90% of the recipes out there call for putting your plant matter into butter or a mix of butter and water on low heat for hours, but say nothing about cleaning or sterilizing starting material. It doesn't take much for someone with no immune system to get sick... |

Rep Power: 20570 | Re: Proposed Ordinance would ban edibles I cant help but wonder if this bunch of criminal DA's and council members will be out there shutting down all those cheerleader bake sales...all those school sponsored bake sales... the ones by the Jr. football leagues, the ones by the local choir groups, the ones by the debate clubs, the ones by the chess clubs---- you know, the ones the fucking corrupt govt FORCED the parents of students all over were forced to organize to keep their schools open while the corrupt govt siphoned off all the tax money ? The first bake sale held in LA County after they pass this ordinance should be the basis of a class action lawsuit against the county, and the city council for selective enforcement of the law. They should all be impeached for support of criminal activity. Put the motherfuckers in jail, where they belong. |
