There was a large contingent of Montebello P.D. who were there for a large Immigration Swearing In. They seemed not to know we were going to be there, too. But they took it all stride. The most negative thing any cop was overheard to say was, with a complete lack of irony, "Safe access? Yeah, safe access to MARIJUANA."

Later, this cop came over and was goofing around, and asked this protester to pose for his cell phone:

Where is the next meeting? This is great. We should have a greater showing and dress formal. Not saying dressing formal is a must, just think it would leave a much greater lasting impression and grab the attention of anyone passing by. Remember we have to win the support of the non-patients. I'm not saying to conform, just saying lets use some tactics the tobacco industry used for marketing... Bare with me. They used to target kids by using "Joe Camel" the cartoon Camel. Why? He is less intimidating as a cartoon and draws our attention. I believe we can leave a strong lasting impression to any person that may drive by and not know much about what is going on?

Again, please don't take this as a response suggesting more needs to be done. This is just an idea. So anyone down for a peaceful "formal" protest? Maybe we could get it catered too?

pretty decent turn out i suppose but always more the merrier we got the trafic hyped and truckers were going off had some signs being passed around there seemed to be some decent media coverage???
