why more and more when i join new dispensary and am actually reading through their paperwork, am I seeing more and more my appointing them as my caregiver? what does this do to my rights to grow? how exactly can they do this and what does initialing this clause mean?

it doesn't affect your right to grow or anything. it's a bullshit clause that's totally undefendable in court if the dispensary tried to use it. the courts have specifically said that clause means nothing.

Common question, Many years ago that was the way we did it. You would designate the collective as your caregiver until People vs Mentch which clearly said a collective could no longer be designated as your caregiver unless they where also responsible for helping you do other things such as take care of you personally (showers,food etc) and took you shopping or did it for you etc. A collective can not legally be your caregiver simply by growing for you or providing you with medicine.
