Rep Power: 129898 | Boston Solidarity Against Trutanich... with video! Los Angeles City Attorney Carmen Trutanich knows better than voters October 23, 2:22 PM Boston NORML Examiner Mike Cann ![]() Carmen Trutanich Los Angeles City Attorney Los Angeles City Council to rush vote on medical pot law -- latimes.com "The draft ordinance currently being urged would severely restrict the operations of medical marijuana dispensaries, which have exploded across the city in the absence of permanent regulation." The video features LA City Attorney Carmen Trutanich who claims that California medical dispensary cannabis is "tainted". Does this city attorney plan to go after the cigarette companies for their sub-par tobacco filled with extra chemicals? How many robberies associated with bars and liquor stores? Does he plan to shut them down too? 74% of LA voters do not support closing down medical dispensaries. LA City Attorney wants to shut down legal dispensaries Thanks, Boston!!! |

Rep Power: 11017 | Re: Boston Solidarity Against Trutanich... with video! Trutanich, what an ass! When asked how they can tell if a dispensary is non-profit or operating to make a profit he says basically "I can walk in and pay $400 for an ounce...they are making tons of profit." How much something sells for is not an indicator of the business making profit. Dispensaries have rent, utilities, salaries, legal fees, license fees, taxes, equipment, etc. Who can say, without a forensic accountant, that a business is operating on a for profit basis rather than a non-profit basis. Look at the leaders of some of the big charities, they are hardly living a low-income life, many give themselves 6 figure incomes and they are non-profit. This whole non-profit argument is a sham and I think the general public sees that. |

I'm sorry.. but I cant stop laughing every time he tells a quick little story about him trying to buy weed " I can walk in and pay $400 an ounce!" LOL! Sorry.. its just funny hearing this type of talk from a dude so hell bent against marijuana. Its sort of like hearing your grandpa or Aunt talking about "smoking that pot" or "toking those weeds". You gotta love it when old/un-hip/completely out of touch people talk about marijuana. |

work. Busting dispensaries only makes it more exspensive, because they need to factor in high insurance, legal fees, etc into their costs. | |
