I spoke with Jeff Clark of Kern County today, if your not familiar with Jeff he is an advocate for patient rights in Kern County. Here is an article posted on ASA website written by Catherine Saillant of the LA Times:

Jeff has asked the patients of Southern California to please support the patients of Kern County. He told me that patients are gathering at Beach Park in Bakersfield SAT MAY 9th at approx. 11 am to begin a PROTEST MARCH at 12 noon at the park on the corner of Oak St. & 21st (Marked as A) continue down Oak St. to Truxtun Ave.. Then continue down Truxton Ave. ending at "THE LIBERTY BELL"(Marked as B). We all want our rights as patients to be respected and protected, but if we don't stand up for our rights people like Sheriff Donny Youngblood and Sheriff Jack Hedges will do their best to take them away!

I made it! Thanks to those who came to rally with us. It was small in numbers, but HUGE in spirit.
I am no where near well enough to walk that far, but I was honored to be an unofficial safe, sober shuttle.
Another all white CVPI honked and gave waters!!! Jeff said it was freaky cool!:slaugh:

I did make it, but very late. I got there about 1/2 hour before it was over. I got to hear Doug from Bakersfield NORML talk and that's about it. It's crazy, Doug has been president of Bako NORML since 92!

Yeah, I was an All American heavyweight on the BC Wrestling team when I stood in the student center with NORML and sought members in 91. It didn't go too well with the coaches, but I've got my opinions.
Doug and I are old friends. I've watched his daughter polish her dancing skills, and thought it funny as heck when he had to leave at 5:00 to babysit. Doug's a grandpa! Hahahaha. It sure is weird getting older.

yes it's real weird getting older i'm 47 and i thought i wouldn't make it past 25 which why i got clean and sober, BUT ATLEAST WERE GETTING OLDER AND I THINK IT'S GREAT!!!!!I'M STILL AIVE AND ASLONG AS THEIR STILL BREATH I ME I WILL NOT GIVE UP,!!! sorry about missing the protest, i didn't know a thing about it till right now!! but you have all my support, if they just had real quality and great donations in Bako, i've been around a while and i still have to go over the grapevine to get meds that work for me.!! have a great week!! with all my support that i can muster i;m their in sprit! You are absolutely right Endlesssky, it is great to still be alive! For the two of us, I almost think there is some luck involved too.
