Do you think a new police chief will help?

I'm not to sure a new guy in charge will do it. From the few interviews I've heard, the one guy Beck, sounds like he wants to spend more time on the street gangs of LA than whats going on now. Does that mean he could tell the Nich to stop using his LAPD officers for stupid raids, or do you think nothing will change with a new chief in charge?

I don't know why people always have to cite Obama as an example. Obama NEVER said he was going to legalize it, and has already left it up to the states to decide MMJ, not federal law. Under his new federal policy, we as patients will not be targeted federally for using our medicine as long as we're in compliance with our local state laws. What else do you want??

Obama has also been in office less than a year, with more time ahead of him than behind him, and yet people expect him to have changed the world by now!

While I don't think our new police chief will change anything, now is the time to flood them with calls and emails and let them know what we DO want, and let them know that we want our new Police Chief to pursue real criminals rather than patients.

i also don't know why you assumed i was only talking about mmj. HE has made many political claims for specific changes and i want to see them.

Enough of that bullshit I say! I could sit here and outline the myriad changes Obama is making regarding transparency, honesty, bi-partisanship, and the like. If you truly think Obama is no different than Bush, then you are not paying attention.

Re: Do you think a new police chief will help?

I saw a news segment on this last night. Apparently the mayor has 3 candidates to choose from and he met with them individually yesterday. None of them sounded great to me, but I'm in no position to judge any of them for lack of information. I was more interested in watching the mayor speak anyway. I haven't seen him on the tube in a while!
