That's only the budget they talk about in public. I'm sure the DEA has a significant "classified" funding appropriation we'll never know about -- because we can't be trusted with the information.

Frankly, I'd like the DEA to issue a statement saying that they are not using Blackwater private security contractor to conduct enforcement operations on domestic soil. Period.

Frankly, Governor Schwarzenegger should make the inquiry personally.

RRRRiiiiiiggghhht, and that is just a "toy" gun strapped to his leg. I was under the impression all law enforcement had to be in uniform when enforcing the "law." Not to mention, after all the raids in So Cal alone, the DEA is well funded and can afford these types of mercenaries.

Don't mock me! If you follow these raids you would know that they, the DEA, do not have set "uniforms" they wear to raids! The DEA does indeed have a budget, and they are not using procured MMJ money in it. Just cause some asshole wears a Blackwater shirt does not identify him as a Blackwater employee!!! Starting threads without knowing all the facts, none of us do for sure, leads to rumors.

First, I don't even know you to mock you, so relax. Second, all law enforcement officers have to wear uniforms period (unless they are working on an undercover assignment). Even if they are not wearing their proper attire, it is yet another protocol they do not care to follow (including laws voters have put on the books). Any property seized during a raid becomes that of the agency confiscating said property. Haven't you noticed that most of these raids happen towards the end of the financial quarter?

Something fishy is up. I may not have all the facts yet (and who really does when we're dealing with a secretive government), but i'm sharing the information I do have at that moment and my thoughts thereto.

That used to be policy for most agencies but that changed in the 90's. Officers conducting raids have much leeway as to thier attire as long as they wear their badge and a shirt or hat that ID's the agency that they work for.

Best case scenario would be what? It’s a DEA agent in a Blackwater shirt? Where did he get that shirt? Why is he wearing it during the course of DEA work? WTF?

I remember when people were going nuts be because State officers were working with the DEA, but everyone seems to be so laissez-faire when it comes to the Blackwater connection. They guys are trained and paid for by our government to be used against us.

Al thought we are not 100% sure Blackwater is involved I can say this. Blackwater like the CIA participates in covert operations, and since these operations are covert if Blackwater was involved in these raids we would never know about it. The DEA could be using Blackwater to access information on Co-Op's to be used for raids and so forth.

you can buy the shirts online for like $13 each. they're not part of a uniform.
All the DEA agents there seem to have been wearing T-shirts under their vests because they're oh-so-casual about this sort of thing.

I suppose if he was wearing a Budweiser T shirt we'd all think the beer company was out to get us too.
If he was wearing an America's Most Wanted T shirt, maybe we'd be cheering him on.
As much as I would love to hop on their case about this, I wouldn't read too much into it other than that he probably got it for free at a DEA seminar or otherwise got it online or something. I doubt our gov would waste the money on hiring BW for a small raid.
