OREGON HOUSE, Calif. -- Yuba County Sheriff Steve Durfor says two robbers impersonating police took marijuana valued at $30,000 from residents who were growing it legally.
The robbers dressed in police uniforms and carried rifles when they raided the home Sunday night in Oregon House, 60 miles north of Sacramento.
They identified themselves as police, then bound the homeowner and four roommates. A resident who tried to resist had minor scalp injuries but declined medical attention.
The thieves stole four pounds of marijuana and 15 mature plants from an outdoor garden.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Melanie Oakes isn't saying which police agency the robbers claimed to represent. She says that could bring the wrong response from skittish growers when real police officers come calling.

That is crazy. It is good that they dont say who they posed as, I think some sketched growers would start shooting the cops. I mean, you see a cop holding a gun on you and you know they dont want to fire their weapon they just want to take you in, so you remain calm. A fake cop with a gun whose main goal is stealing from you, you are like a sitting duck.

What did they do with the people when they left?

That's crazy that people will dressed themself as police and enter people's home.Did they have an search warrant or any kind of warrent? Did the robbers showed any ID? Beside the minor scalp injury.Are the residents okay?
Police is there to help people in need and not to take their rights. When they take your meds they want to kill you, well that 's how I see it. Without my meds I would not be able to function on a everyday base.

LOOMIS, CA - Claiming they were federal agents, six men burst into a home in Loomis Saturday night and took between ten and twenty pounds of medicinal marijuana.

Placer County investigators said the robbery had many similarities to others in Butte and Nevada Counties recently. "It's a similar type of take over of homes with robbery, people being bound and suspects wearing law enforcement jackets," said Placer County Sheriff's Sergeant Brian Whigam.

In this robbery on Swetzer Road in Loomis, the suspects bound their victims in duct tape. They were so well covered in clothes and bandannas that investigators say they were unable to get any clear descriptions.

Deputies said they were aware of the legal medicinal marijuana-growing operation at the home. They said this is the first such take-over robbery they are aware of in Placer County.

Neighbors were stunned at the brazen crime and worried that so many suspects were involved. "I had no idea it was so many people. (They) may have been hiding out somewhere and you know, coming into our yard," said Loomis resident Sheila Lipton who watched a law enforcement helicopter circling above her home near the crime scene.

Investigators most of the pot taken was already harvested, but the robbers also took several plants.

Another neighbor said he believes people should be told if medicinal marijuana is being grown near their homes. "It's not really what your neighbors are doing but if there's something that's a little unusual going on, you are able to prepare yourself and protect your family," said Frank Godfrey, who lives nearby.

This is the kind of news people that oppose medical marijuana love to see(big pharma). Shame on those men who did this. This kind of events make the medical marijuana community look "dangerous". Here I thought we had to just worry about the cops stealing from us, now its thugs in cop suits... Any other news on what happened to these guys?

for me it was REAL POLICE!!!!! About ten of them this afternoon at my house.... They searched, inspected my paperwork, counted the plants, called dwp to verify that i was not stealing power... About three hours later they left as politely as they came... No medicine or plants were seized.. PHew......... BY THE WAY... GET THE COUNTY MEDICAL MARIJUANA CARD..... It was the reason they left me alone....

That may work in LA, but in my hometown, you get shot dead for even reaching for a weapon. The officer who makes the kill gets a desk job until a shooting review board, made up of fellow officers, can justify the kill. Cops kill QUICK in Bakersfield.

Did you have a big grow? I've had a friend get raided in LA and they chopped down his crop
Only 40 plants. What paperwork did they check ? Any info would help us all I'm sure if it gets the law to leave us alone !! Thanks in advance !
