Rep Power: 353312 | Re: MPP TV Ad Hits California Airwaves Today Dear Lance: California Marijuana Consumer Featured in New Television Ad Campaign Imagine seeing responsible marijuana consumers portrayed on TV as contributing members of society who can help California out of its budget crisis — and knowing that you made that bold impression possible. This is exactly what you and I can do in California, if we act swiftly. Check out the ad below featuring Nadene Herndon, a brave and responsible marijuana consumer from the Sacramento-area. The ad debuts on television today: Short. Sweet. Mainstream. Simple. Timely. And powerful. With our state's budget crisis dominating the headlines here in California and across the nation, you and I are presented with a ripe opportunity to make a big splash with a historic television advertising campaign asking the California legislature and governor to make marijuana legally taxed and regulated. You literally get to decide how many people see this ad. Each thirty-second spot on a major cable station reaches thousands of California voters and costs about $50. How many spots would you like to sponsor? This is the first major television ad campaign advocating on behalf of responsible marijuana users in California. With this ad we are answering Gov. Schwarzenegger's recent call for a debate about marijuana policy. Major media outlets are already showing interest in reporting on the ad campaign, particularly because a few stations rejected it. Media coverage will multiply the impact of the ad buy. This is an opportunity to strike while the iron is hot. I hope you'll join us. Regardless of whether you decide to give to this project, I want you to know that I really appreciate your enthusiasm for the cause and look forward to partnering with you in our mutual fight for freedom. Thanks again. Sincerely, ![]() F. Aaron Smith California Policy Director Marijuana Policy Project I received an email from MPP |

Rep Power: 4127 | Re: MPP TV Ad Hits California Airwaves Today Can I be honest? I really think they could have done a wayyyyyy better job on the commercial. Just calls us marijuana users and we are willing to pay tax.... That's not going to convince anybody that already isn't convinced, so they are basically preaching to the choir.. That being said... Thank you MPP for putting something out there for the "sheeple" to see. |

Rep Power: 1630 | Re: NO NO NO I think it would be great if it was legal. Yes some people will buy from the big companies but there will always be quality places. Like a micro brewery. The fact is if it is legal prices would come down and in the end the mmj user would benefit. Also quality standards would improve - like being able to check for mold. |

Rep Power: 2548 | Re: MPP TV Ad Hits California Airwaves Today It will probably work better than Saying. We have a product that replaces millions if not billions of pills, chemicals that we don't have to pollute our bodys with. We save our selves thousands of dollars growing our own medicine so we don't have to spend our hard earned dollars on legal drugs. (federally and state wide) We visit the doctor less because our side effects are we eat well, sleep to good and have a great attitude. My doctor buddy hates that.. LOL just kidding. At least someone is doing something. More than I can say. Peace |

Rep Power: 1006 | Re: MPP TV Ad Hits California Airwaves Today yeahhhhhh. I'm not too sure about this ad, I mean I support what they are trying to do, but the material in this specific piece is bland, boring and uninformative. IMO could have made a much better ad for that 30 seconds. I hate to say this, but as soon as you say "were marijuana patients!" THEN disclose the reasons why you should legalize and tax, you're too late, the people you are trying to convince have already made their mind up about your commercial. Its basic speech psychology really. Now if you go talkin to your average 35-55 year old republican, rattling off all of these "fixes" for the economy, the education reform, the health reform, etc etc, in a commercial. i.e. Some dramatic but not ostentatious intro claiming a "Miracle fix for the economy!". Any attention getter really... then... We could have this much $____ for teachers and schools We could have THIS much $____ for health and public works. We could save THIS much in the justice system $_____ with every single number you say getting higher and higher in the viewers mind its playing out as... "Jeeze! if whatever this plan is could get us that much state revenue, boost our economy that much, why haven't our legislators JUMPED at it?!?" THEN you tell them its what COULD come from taxes on a REGULATED AND SECURE marijuana market. By just structuring your commercial differently you COMPLETELY change and enhance the viewers subconscious retention of your information, the basis of all successful advertising. |
