Medication Storage

[I wasn't sure where to post this thread, hope this okay. If not, feel free to move it :smile]

I usually keep my medication at room temperature (Except a couple of concentrates & edibles) in the containers in which it comes, be it bag or capsule. Yet lately I've been wondering if perhaps it's time I pick up different size jars or a safe box or something other than having them lying around. It would be nice if everyone could have a great set up where you could display your medication devices (glass, etc.) and store their meds but that isn't the case. I know a lot patients must hide their medication from people they live with, be it roommate, parents, children, who simply don't understand or don't agree. I've heard of a lot of patients that take their meds home and switch them into other containers that are either pre-labeled or not labeled at all. There's even OCD people like myself who prefer keeping all their different medication in separate places. Does anyone use any other products in their storage? Like the blimp shaped humidifiers? Would anyone recommend that?

How do you store?

Re: Medication Storage

i keep all my medication labeled, and put them under my tv in a cupboard, neatly.
when i get my meds back from the clinics, i put them in separate glass containers and label them, usually right away.
then about an hour later i open the cupboard and one-by-one take out the meds to examine and smell them. i do this like 4-5 times a day always puts a smile on my face hahaha

takes me like 10 minutes to prepare a bowl..
it's a ritual - smell, look, rip, smell, feel, smell...
(this post feels like deja vous )

My OCDing kinda guy! I know what you mean about rituals and prepping. If things weren't labeled and organized neatly I think I'd get very frustrated.

Re: Medication Storage

I keep no more then an eighth at a time and then wait to finish that eighth before a buy more bud because I think the heat messes up the potency(definately in the summer) if it lies around to much. I keep it in an airtight glass jar at room temp because Im done with the cuisinart wine coolers because those things just mess my bud up. I keep the jar in a lock box I got and ever since I have kept it in the box I havent had any bud stolen which is proof that you cant pic those lock boxes.

Ten years ago one of my daughters managed to pick my lock box when I was out of state. So...maybe it wasn't a good strong one...but it CAN be done if the person is determined enough, I guess.

Maybe it should be in a lock box, in a lock box, in a safe box, way up high where no one else can reach it. Matryoshka doll style. With lots of locks of course.

Re: Medication Storage

Cost Plus has cool glass jars with a seal, in different sizes starting at .99 cents for one that holds about a 1/4. I've seen them for $5 to $9 in a couple of dispensaries. I have several of the jars, keep strains and concentrates in separate ones and usually just carefully pull the sticker off the med bottle and put it on the glass jar so I can keep track. I usually put the jars in a cupboard so they're not out in direct light all the time as they're totally clear.
