Why would I want to pay $25 to smoke in a place I have never been with people I don't know. It's sponsored by two booze companies and NO WHERE does it say ANYTHING about MMJ OR VERIFY RECS.. Sounds like a place waiting to be busted to me.

Sounds like fun to me. Didn't anyone on wt smoke bud prior to the passage of prop 215? It was just as illegal back then as it is now for people who don't have recs. It is amazing to me how almighty people get behind the MEDICAL Marijuana shield.

Sure we did. But the smart ones of us avoided bullshit profit-making professional parties given in local neighborhoods full of pissed-off neighbors who will have your car towed if it is one inch into their driveway. These same neighbors will call the cops at the drop of a hat, so the chances of the party lasting long is small. Nobody likes party houses, I sure as shit would not want one in my neighborhood!

Sorry for posting since it has caused so much derision and hostility. Just a note about a friggin' party cause I was bored and wanted to post something on WT. Last time I do that, man.

So much hate on WT makes me wonder if anyone is actually smoking cannabis out there since it usually promotes peace, togetherness, and happiness.

Slander is not really why I bought into this concept of a WT community. Buddhism teaches that slander in thought, word, or action is the deepest and greatest source of bad karma.

It's not hate and it certainly is not slander. You have 3 WT veterans who pointed out this is not a MMJ event, and that these parties often lead to arrests and other illegal activity. If you take that personally, that is your perogative. What you should do is thank Zman for possibly saving you from some trouble, not get all hurt and claim Trackers are full of bad karma.

Buddhism also teaches that criticism should be respected and considered. Seems to me that a house party is likely to do more harm to the public image of MMJ and MJ if that house party is broken up by the LAPD. If you want to go, don't let anyone stop you, but you can probably understand that patients in need are not likely to support MJ used in this context. Patients do not want their medicine jeopardized by people being irresponsible with recreational use of MJ.

Hey dude. Listen, I know you had nothing but the best of intentions. But ya also gotta keep a few things in mind before ya post something like that. We're at a very sensitive stage right now, and stuff like this doesn't do much to promote our image as resposible patients, dig?

I hear what you're saying about Buddhism. But we're not all Buddhists. And if there's anything this forum has taught me, it's that the stereotypes about peaced out hippie smokers are utterly baseless. There's just as many right-wing gun toten' types on this site as there are pacifists like yours truly. C'est la.

Hey Greenbud, Try not to take it personal these guys really are trying to look out for you. There is a lot of events out there that can be pretty sketchy and when people throw parties like this it gives MMJ a bad name regardless of the fact they're not even in our community. I will tell you this if you go to a party like this and think you will be above the the law there you are misinformed. Being around a whole bunch of non patients smoking is not within the limits of your rec. There a lot of MMJ sponsored events coming up but none are WT sponsored events so if you want the info just PM and I would love to share the info with you...
