Rep Power: 147808 | Re: Civil disobedience the proper way to end prohibition Down for some civil disobedience, but any type of "smoke-in" protest should be carefully separated fro MMJ, and simply be a pro-legalization rally IMO. The reason I think this, is to keep any type of backlash the may happen from affecting the patients who really need this medicine....let's remember the goal is to get easier access not lose what we have....and these a-hols are looking for any reason to take it away. If the rally is simply pro-legalization...with no signs or people taking about medical use, then the DA cannot lump the two together.... ...and really isn't full legalization what we want anyway? it is the best way to lower the prices so the truly needy can easier afford the medicine... |

Rep Power: 22999 | Re: Civil disobedience the proper way to end prohibition I say we organize a smoke in/clean up. The idea being we can be productive members of the community and stand up for our rights at the same time. We can clean up a park or a beach and take smoke breaks while we clean, just like home. This would bring more positive notoriety to our cause, rather than just standing around we would actually be helping out. Who could bad talk a group of people cleaning up a park or public square. I'm sure the media would cover it, especially on a slow news day like Sunday. |

A kind act will say more for our community than a lawn full of smokers flipping off everyone. What message are we conveying? What does the public see? Clink Clank, my two cents. | |
