Anyone see this yet. I wonder what would happen here in LA if we did this downtown.

Re: Civil disobedience the proper way to end prohibition

The effects would be magnified greatly because the police would have the additional
problem of medical users mixed in with non medical users.

we will never develop a social culture around cannabis useage if we dont use it in public.
to me this is the NO 1 issue with all drugs.
people need to get over it its just smoke in the air same as cigars clove cigs etc.
the more people see functional responsible useage the quicker cannabis can be considered more along the lines of caffine .

you guys ever see the episode of cops where the cop asks the kid
what if the airplane you were about to get on was being flown by someone who was smoking pot would you feel safe.
and the kid says YEP id be fine with it if he was an experienced stoner LOLOLOL.

i think the kids viewpoint was actually a lil more real.

wasnt the meet n greet we just did sort of along these lines
cant get any more open then 60 heads hitting an atom smasher in a public park !

the public saw with all the medicating we were actually a very well behaved group.
the sky did not fall the world did not open up and swallow us all

Re: Civil disobedience the proper way to end prohibition

Down for some civil disobedience, but any type of "smoke-in" protest should be carefully separated fro MMJ, and simply be a pro-legalization rally IMO.

The reason I think this, is to keep any type of backlash the may happen from affecting the patients who really need this medicine....let's remember the goal is to get easier access not lose what we have....and these a-hols are looking for any reason to take it away.

If the rally is simply pro-legalization...with no signs or people taking about medical use, then the DA cannot lump the two together....

...and really isn't full legalization what we want anyway?

it is the best way to lower the prices so the truly needy can easier afford the medicine...

Re: Civil disobedience the proper way to end prohibition

I say we organize a smoke in/clean up. The idea being we can be productive members of the community and stand up for our rights at the same time.
We can clean up a park or a beach and take smoke breaks while we clean, just like home. This would bring more positive notoriety to our cause, rather than just standing around we would actually be helping out.
Who could bad talk a group of people cleaning up a park or public square.
I'm sure the media would cover it, especially on a slow news day like Sunday.

I like this idea.

A kind act will say more for our community than a lawn full of smokers flipping off everyone.

What message are we conveying? What does the public see?

Clink Clank, my two cents.

I agree! At the same time perhaps give out information about MMJ asking for support for our cause. It shows we care about others and the world around us...not just our cause. I would def be down to clean a beach or park, while educating people on MMJ and asking them to help us
