Rep Power: 24 | Has been moved to december 9th @9am!!!!! HAS BEEN MOVED TO DECEMBER 9TH @9AM!!!!! San Diego Medical Cannabis Patients Rights Rally and City Council Public Comment December 9th@9am 202 C Street San Diego, CA City Hall Introduce Medical Cannabis Patients to new city council. Be there on first day of non agenda public comment at city council to let this new City Council group that the medical cannabis community is united and ready to work for change. Medical Cannabis Patients, friends, family, caregivers When December 9th, 2008 8:45am Rally outside City Hall (there will be a sign-making group project at the next two hope meetings) 9:30am move inside to attend the first City Council Public Comment of the new Council Administration. You do not have to speak, just being there will show the New City Council that the Medical Cannabis Community stands united in wanting ID cards to prevent Arrest and Incarceration. The Medical Cannabis Task Force Must be re-started! The new city council president is Tony Young. The hope group's district three city council rep is Toddy Gloria. Stephen Lew is the Community Outreach for the office of the Mayor. The road to regulation and ID cards for the city goes through these three people. Todd Gloria is a new city council member for district 3. Todd has visited the Hope Unlimited Support Group. Todd has endorsed the Hope Group and is in favor of Medical Cannabis Patients Rights. This is our chance to show Todd we are serious about moving forward with clear cut patient/caregiver guidelines, and Patient ID cards for San Diego. This is the first step towards creating a meaningful dialogue between San Diego Medical Cannabis Patients and Politicians. The Hope Group performs Crucial and Necessary San Diego Community Outreach Functions, such as passing out food to the homeless on Thanksgiving, or donating medicine to qualified members. Please not that each meeting the group passes a hat around and collects money to be IMMEDIATELY given back to the poorest of the group. We advocate politically, we are bringing people together. We are educating people. We are bridging the gap between the Patients and the Politicians and Law Enforcement. We are a liason between the street and policy. Activists, Patients, Medical Professionals, and Public Policy people come together to exchange ideas. We are providing Politicans to direct access to their medical cannabis constituences. Our purpose is to lobby for ID cards issued by the City to patients to protect us from arrest and unnecceary use of tax dollars. Let us come together and find common ground. San Diego medical cannabis patients continue to live in fear of arrest and incarceration for using medical cannabis within the limits of the law. San Diego cannabis patients refuse to live in fear. We refuse to stand by while others are hurting. If you no longer want to continue to live in fear of arrest and harassment in San Diego for using the medicine that heals you then show up on December 9th! |
