Rep Power: 289750 | Re: leg infection, You have probably have had it for 20 years.. It lays dormant before your liver functions even show a noticeable change. Just take care of yourself, and you can live to be OLD. As far as I know Hep C does not cause insomnia, worrying about it will. So just chill you have a long way to progress before you have an reason to be concerned. Obviously no drinking.... unless you like to play Russian Roulette. Peace, zb1 |

Rep Power: 62282 | Re: leg infection, I have HepC, diagnosed in 2001 at which time my MD said I probably had it for 30 years, I am 60 now. I did interferon for a year and only accomplished quintupling my viral load, although the last 3 months did introduce me to mmj. I did not use mmj until last month since that time, in fact I have been clean and sober for over 32 years. I now use it for sleep, depression and HepC. Unless your liver is swollen or become cirrhotic, your most likely problems will be chronic fatigue and reduced stamina until your liver begins to fail. I am done with cures until there is a real one. The treatments now used for HepC all appear to be more harmful than helpful. In all, HepC is not a death sentence, or if it is it is a verrrrry slooow one. |

Rep Power: 62282 | Re: leg infection, I have a friend who is also having problems with his ammonia level, ended up in an ICU for a week not knowing who he was. I have two friends who also have HepC, one in better shape and one in worse. It is a slow killer, but will eventually do the job. I understand your mood and feelings of impotence. Your struggle now, as for all of us eventually, is one of claiming control of quality of life as much as possible. Thank God for smoke! Once the battle becomes grim, as you describe yours, the only reasonable goal is to make yourself as comfortable and happy as you can. FUCK THE DEA! It may be 10 or more years before there is anything real they can do about HepC and many of us will not make it that long. It is incomprehensible to me that compassion for the dying must wait till the final stages and sometimes the last breath. |
