Why is the substance we use named Medical Marijuana ?

It's not produced under any license or in laboratory conditions. ?
It's grown same way as the stuff you can find on the streets. ?
It's not FDA approved. ?
It's Not prescribed by a medical doctor. ?
it's Not healthy cause it's smoked. ?

It is used to treat medical condtions. So that's why ?

What makes the difference from the street and what we buy in a dispensory. ?

It's called Medical Marijuana because that is how it was used in civilizations going back thousands of years. We needed to put the "Medical" in front of the Marijuana name to remind ourselves because we, in modern day civilization, had forgotten that, and had allowed ourselves to be fooled into thinking it was a bad thing. The distinction should live on, I believe, because the medicinal value of marijuana must never be allowed to be forgotten again, IMHO.

I so agree with you. Look the government has lied about MJ being a dangerous drug for 80 years- we need to reeducate the brain washed masses.

I guess since people who have their medical cards are using it for whatever ails them, so its being used for a medical purpose.

Well, first of all, if they're being done right the grows are hopefully not what ends up on the street. I personally believe, although I know it's not always the case, that medical growers have much more care for who is going to use their product than someone growing schwag to sell on the street. Or maybe I just never got good street stuff.

Also, a doctor can't prescribe it because it is illegal. That doesn't change the fact that it is medicine; that's just politics. It being on a certain schedule doesn't mean it belongs there. And you do need a doctor to recommend it so the medical part comes in there. When I was evaluated I went to a doctor who behaved like a doctor (checked my medical records, made sure my prescriptions didn't conflict, asked a lot about my illnesses, etc.) so that's medical to me.

Also it makes a difference to us as a community and as individuals. Legalizing marijuana and legalizing medical marijuana are two different things. And for me, thinking of it as medical has changed my entire system of medicating so that I'm much healthier about it now than when I used to have the occasional joint or bong hit. It's also changed my outlook towards marijuana. I do see it as my medicine now, not something I do that makes me feel .

Now your buddy will come up to you and say "i just got this medical marijuana man!" its probably just good bud. Medical marijuana is medicine that works, is potent, clean, and often preferred organic. USUALLY the strain matches the buds so you can eventually find a flavor that works best for you. Either so cal or nor cal i know GDP properly handled will put me to sleep, like no other. Thats medical mj's advantages.

Depends on what street.

Dispensing coops have different standards, But your meds will likely been inspected for mold and webs. Coops rely on repeat visits and it's in their interest to offer safe and clean medicine. Plus most are there to serve you and share the same concerns. But still there aren't "standards" for what eactly is safe and clean or even the mysterious "it's organic label".

But the "street"... Depends on what street. Most street marijuana can't be exchanged for another strain. And we hope only safe things were used on it. No way to know. That can be scary if you have a condition that could be worsened by injesting marijuana that's contaminated.

I would think when meds are grown by a coop, for a coop, meds could be even safer. Plus they could be consistantly clean, with consitant potency and effects.

Well the TRUTH of the matter is.....

Medical Marijuana = Recreational Marijuana

The recreational use of marijuana is actually using it medicinally..... so-called 'recreational' use is still medicating.

Take a couple of 'typical' recreational uses.....

Using after a long day of work or school = MMJ - stress relief and general uplifting or down-lifting

Using while 'partying' = MMJ - you are medicating to change your mood/improve your social experience.

Using randomly for Any reason = MMJ - you may be using to just feel good/high you are medicating to alter your mood/feelings...medicating

MJ /thc IS a drug, ANY use is Medicating, you don't have to on your deathbed to benefit from MJ.

Given MJ's benign side effects ALL adults should be able to Medicate for whatever reason or No defined reason with or without someone else's Permission, saying otherwise is just as wrong as the Hypocrites and liars who continue this Immoral war on MJ users.

(Eagerly awaiting the big flame fest for expressing my opinion, which logically seems to be TRUE)
