Rep Power: 629 | Vaporizing What is the point of vaporizing? Now that new studies are coming out proving the smoking cannabis can reduce your chance of lung cancer, or any cancer. I don’t see a reason to buy these vaporizing machines. I have also heard that smoking cannabis has no ill effects on lungs. So what are the advantages to using a vaporizer? Anyone with some info please chime in. |

Rep Power: 167 | personally i dont like butane, so the bong i use a glass wand (superheated) to vape my stuff. joints i fire with a lighter but the nasty butane is gone pretty quick , personally i dont have any beef with smoking , but butane i dont like, and there is some studies i think showing it harbors disease (butane) and i just dont think its good stuff to be inhaling at any amount at least for me, cannabis smoke and its concentrates however is no less risky than say organic tobacco smoke most likely, and thats from a non reserched point of view. |

Rep Power: 2702 | Re: Vaporizing Well for me I vaporize about a third of the time. As far as smoking not being harmful, come on, no matter how many studies they do saying one way or another, common sense tells me that inhaling the combustion of cellulose and all of the other chemical compounds in MJ has to have some bad long term effects on the lungs. I love my bag of vap for how easy it is on my body, I can tell for sure, but I also like the extra little something I get from smoking. Benefits for me Much mellower on MY lungs Less airborne particles for others I love gadgets :smile2: Meds go a little farther (least of my concerns LOL ) I don't use butane anyways smoking, but still NO BUTANE So not a whole lot of huge benefits for me personally, but still very worthwhile to me, Priceless for people who have adverse reactions to actual smoke though. How bad is smoking for our lungs, that is still to be determined by 50 more years of conflicting studies |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Vaporizing There is no question that smoking ANYthing is bad for your lungs. Its not the drug that so much hurts your lungs, its the smoke. When we inhale smoke into our lungs repeatedly, we are damaging them, every part of our airways as well. I am not in denial of this fact, I know my lungs are probably darker than a non smoker and have a higher chance of lung cancer. Question these so called studies or articles. I have seen too many friends, family and my patients suffer from the damaging effects of smoking - COPD or chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder is an insidious disease that can literally take your breath from you - caused by chronic smoking, of anything. I finally bought my first vaporizer in a effort to slow down any lung damage I have already brought on to myself. Also, I have had throat problems over the last few years that keeps getting worse, yes from smoking even from a iced down bong. Life is too short and I love my MJ so I am changing my life to enjoy it with the next step to grow my own and make yummy snack with even less side effects. Again, closely read those articles that say smoking the good green stuff makes you live longer. I think it can truly make you live happier and focus more on the stuff that matters like living for now, though smoking it has its consequences. It is like saying that Big Macs lower your cholesterol. It just doesn't make sense. |

Rep Power: 1680 | Re: Vaporizing Uhh Where have you read about these "new studies" stating that mmj can reduce the risk of lung cancer? I dont think thats true. Smokers are still at risk, i'm sure. Any smoke that is inhaled is in no way good for you. Vaporizing, in my opinion still isnt the most efficient way to medicate but it has helped a lot of people that would have had to stop medicating. |

Rep Power: 648 | Re: Vaporizing Inhalation of any smoke is never "good" for you, but vaporizing isn't smoke. It heats the herb to 357 or so which is what THC vaporizes at. Its a clean hit without all the toxins, and butane, etc. Try solar burning too, you'll notice the bud tastes so much better w/o butane. |
