In the hood there is a way that you can sprinkle the flowers to make them more better looking...haven't heard any one do it in years but fools where doing it. With what? good who knows! Is it safe? A few years ago I had an 8th like that. Same description you gave- it went off like a sparkler. BUT I will add it had a bad taste as well. Needless to say I discarded the stuff and got something less suspicious.

"Back in the day" we called that "gas weed"...as in gasoline. Mexican smugglers put it in the gas tank, and it smelled like gas and sparked up like fireworks when you toked it...but since we're talkin MMJ here, more like cause is improper flushing.:trolleyes:

I have been on the bad end of a two month long lung infection for less than that, but thats just me, i have the einstein bosen lung.

Newbee to weedtracker and first post; if it crackels then the grower did not flush (use plain water. No nutrients ie.: plant food) for at least 2 weeks at the end of the grow. Some times the flint dust from a hard to get lit lighter does that. I have seen dry purple urkel act like paper spread burn. Give it 2 mikey, he'll smoke anything.

My experience was basically the same as MRT's. The bud looked and smelled fine but had this exact reaction and I did notice a nasty taste in my throat and ended up not using it to smoke anymore. As others have said in this thread and others, it isn't DEFINITELY a bad sign, but since there's a strong likelihood that it is chemicals or even spider mites (GAA!), do you want to take that chance?

Anyway you want to look at it, sparkling buds aren't healthy medicine. Toss it or take it back to the dispensery that you got it from. Sorry to hear you got bad meds. That's the easiest way to ruin my day. I like my fireworks in the Independence Night sky... Not my buds.
