I had a migraine for 19 days years ago myself. I have one now, going on 4 days and my blood pressure is high also. Migraines really do suck. So what is the longest you had a migraine?

Oh man, had one since April, no shit. Well it actually finally stopped about a week ago, but I did wake up in the middle of the night last night with a bad one again.

Well I couldnt tell you cuz I dont know, I've tried everthing and MMJ is the ONLY thing that helps, helps me sleep, eat, think, flat out function in painful times like that.

Currently on day seven. This is the longest one I have ever had. Before this 3 days was the record. midrin, vicodin, darvocet and imitrex are all worthless to me. MMJ is the only way to go.

I spent close to a year dealing with what I (and my neurologist) considered one continual migraine. There were some days where the pain wasn't excruciating, but I was still very much disabled. I had to take time off of school, I failed classes, I quit my job... lots of bad ju-ju with no explanation.

All this led to MRIs w/ contrast, chiropractics, acupuncture, and almost every med you can think of: none of it worked. MMJ was the only thing that helped... It didn't solve the problem, but gave me enough relief to be able to at least function as a person.

Since then, I still have them frequently, but nothing has lasted nearly that long. In addition to MMJ and strict nutrition and exercise requirements, I have found that the anxiety med buspar paired with the occasional clonazepam and a small amount of thyroid supplement help. It might sound like a weird approach, but considering more than 1/2 the migraine meds on the market are off-label anti-depressants, beta-blockers, magnesium uptake enhancers and ergots, I don't think my treatment is all that bad.

That's horrible. Usually I can just sleep off my migraines. I can't imagine having one for so long.

I could very easily say that migraines have ruined my life, but that would be the wrong perspective.

Its a challenge, and I think I'm winning. I feel very fortunate to have access to MMJ even if the city I live in is terrorizing those who provide it to me. Times are tough in many senses, but that doesn't mean life is bad. The best way to fight any disease/impairment is with care and positivity,

I feel very sad for those in SD with terminal illnesses who are now unable to find safe access. I have many years of happy medication ahead of me. There are others who aren't so fortunate.

On a lighter note... anyone with migraines should look into Dr. Bronners peppermint soap. It might sound lame, but buy some, and take a long shower lathered in it: back of the neck, temples, scalp, the whole she-bang. Breath deep and you will feel better if only for a short while.

How bad is it? I hate to endorse opiods, but sometimes they are the only way to break the cycle. If you are really hurting of course vicodin's gonna let you down. In dire circumstances a shot of Demerol is a usual remedy. Urgent care can help you with that.

Imitrex is such a joke. Both the nasal spray and the pill. These things didnt do squat for me ever. Mmj is seriously the only answer i have found to cope with migraines.

Imitrex supposaidly works wonders for a vast majority or migraine sufferers... as doctors will tell you. Sadly, it really doesn't. Some peole respond well to an injection of it, but thats a big hastle, and also a big risk. If you're like me - approx 5% of the test pop - the side effects are very scary. Extreme chest pain and tightness: very disconcerting.

Green is both a life saver and life enhancer.

Now that i medicate frequently,i experience them 90% LESS

Man I sure hope it gets better soon and that we can start medicating soon!!My understanding is I will have migraines until tumor shrinks again who knows when that will be!!

i have gone 3 days in bed not moving to eat or anything.. only drinking shakes and water in bed. and getting up to go to the bathroom. I thought that was about my max threshold for pain

to hear someone has gone 19 days... and the migraines are tumor related... is heartbreaking... i pray good things for you sir.

for the record.. i have never been able to find a strain of MMJ to relieve my migraines. i wish i could.

I would tend to get mine for two weeks at a time, and I wasn't using cannabis at that time. I wouldn't take anything as I disliked how many prescriptions I was taking...it's a small part of a long story, but I'll spare you fine folks....in the rare chance one kicks in, it doesn't last more then a day. Glad you're feeling better.
