Rep Power: 717 | Marijuana as an Aphrodisiac All week people have been reacting passionately to our new OG Kush. First they inhale the fragrance and often close their eyes – just like when smelling something that brings to mind a pleasurable experience. This is nearly always followed by a prolonged 'mmmmmmmmmmm!' And then they want a closer look under the magnifying glass. Clearly there is something about this particular strain that seems to heighten sensual pleasure. This prompted yours truly, Ma Green, to look into cannabis' aphrodisiac qualities. For thousands of years different cultures have used cannabis as both an aphrodisiac and as a non-stimulant. Research indicates low doses can increase libido while high doses can create the opposite effect. You can read a short medical-related article with full details here: http://www.steadyhealth.com/articles...ant__a768.html Googling marijuana and sex-drive or aphrodisiac yields plenty of additional commentary, including an article from Cannabis Culture Magazine (August 31, 1998). The writer notes “Ancient sacred texts reveal how to use marijuana to increase sexual pleasure, but modern research teaches an equally important lesson: marijuana's effects are determined by the personality, physiology, intention, environment, and culture of the user.” (http://www.cannabisculture.com/articles/1372.html) Much more research needs to be conducted to look at why cannabis can be used on both ends of the libido spectrum. So, until that kind of research is fully funded we encourage you to undertake your own research. We're guessing that it's a combination of the strain type (Indica, Sativa, Hybrid), the dosage and the individual that produces the stimulating or non-stimulating effects. What do you think? |

I guess what i found to be true for me is that smoking flowers kills my sex drive, i'm usually way too dehydrated to be doing any kind of licking or fluid sharing. i find that oil based concentrates, not pressed hash or kief, but amber, martian dust, glass, oil, or jelly don't cause dehydration in the form of drymouth when vaporized on their own and not smoked on top of flowers. You get all the high and none of the discomfort. It's much more pleasant to speak, kiss or lick when you are hydrated. So medicate with concentrates and share your experience. | |
