Rep Power: 347    | I feel like i have black stuff in my lungs everytime i cough, and then spit.... up comes a hunk of black stuff. I blame this on smoking mmj of course. I no longer use papers/blunts/pipes, i only use my tripple chamber amg and my quadruple chamber bub for maximum filtration. It has been a while since i stopped smoking ciggarettes/blunts/joints but i am still coughing up black stuff, especially after i smoke. I CANT BE THE ONLY ONE?!?!?!?! (i know digestive disorders is probably not the right place to post this, but i had no clue where too?) |

The only time that I ever coughed up black shit was when I was smoking a pack and a half of Marlboro reds a day. Once I stopped that the problem of black crap went away. |

No matter how much you filter MJ as long as you are SMOKING you will have some harmful burnt plant matter in your lungs, how much and how harmful is a question for the experts. Vaporization will help prevent these kinds of issues and is recommended for daily users instead of smoking. |

Rep Power: 280 | Re: I feel like i have black stuff in my lungs Recently got locked up for a week, but had also started coughing up phlegm like when I was smoking cigarettes( CANCER, but i quit) and it turned out I had an ulcer. But even once that was under control I was still coughing it up, but after a week of not using MMJ and a few days (out of personal choice, and to get off psych meds and back on my MJ) it went away and I no longer cough shit up  |

Maybe it is because as I said I am a daily smoker, from what I have read here it seems that when you ease up and stop then the phlem comes on, which would make sense as it is your bodies natural defense to expel what does not belong in your body. |

Rep Power: 8731 | Re: I feel like i have black stuff in my lungs in the past, i would spit up black shiznets after a night of smoking herb, this was when i used a bic! all that butane you inhale really builds up, you ever burn a piece of glass with a bic? know how it turns black? that's all stuff you're inhaling. eeeek. ever since i switched to cleaner fuel (vector/colibri), and a ceramic heating element (hakko), i have not spit up any abnormal looking loogie. hopefully this helps a bit. noone should be using bics anyway, get a cheap refillable lighter, and throw some quality fuel in it! it'll make a ton of difference, both in taste, and in the long run. |

This in itself has made the only difference in my regular smoking routine. No problem anymore. Since stopping, I took a single hit from a honeybud. I really like honeybuds and this was the common one that was stocked at most places. I had that problem instantly! For this reason do I feel that it is the butane. |

Rep Power: 0 | Yea, Time to vape! had the same problem stopped any smoke and only vape and eat get a fn vaporizer or you're sunk, you know cleared it up in no time don't vape too hot either the taste is far better, you won't want to smoke after vaping. You don't get the toxic gasses that come with combusting the stuff, and you actually get far more thc than smoking you have to vape now, or else.... |

Why would you get more THC? While Vaporizers do a great job, and you do get the majority of the THC, I believe that you won't release all of the THC/Cannabinoids that comes with combustion. I've never coughed up black stuff, and I've been smoking daily for almost 2 years. My suggestion is to either not smoke quite as much (I smoke about a gram and a half daily) or to simply vape/edibles. Exercise and eating healthy is also important if you plan to smoke Medical Cannabis. While there are worse things you could smoke, it is still smoking and it will build tar around your lungs. Keeping your body in shape and healthy will only help fight this problem and reduce coughing up the black stuff. Also, believe it or not, smoking out of Waterpipes (especially waterpipes with percs) have been shown to be somewhat of an ineffective way of medicating only because the water/ice (if you use any) will reduce the amount of THC vs. Tars, therefore you may smoke more vs a clean glass pipe. Taller bongs with percs will also create strain and stress on your lungs, which only weakens them. I have a giant bong with a 2 percs, it's a great smoke and I can take huge rips off them, but I definetly find that I smoke wayy more than if I medicate out of a pipe or vape. Your best bet? Invest in a vaporizer. I did, and it's one of the best investments I've made. I suggest investing in the highest quality one you can though, and even though they're expensive, I don't think you can put a price on NOT coughing up black stuff lol. Rep Power: 0 | Re: I feel like i have black stuff in my lungs I have the same problem,i am a serious smoker and smoke constantly. if you get slow buring bud usualy i find these to be outdoors it will build up more resin and will fill your lungs, so to be plain and simple smoke higher quality if it gets bad switch to a vaporizor orget a lung machine(if you have a cold or lung problem u get these as treatment. u fill up a thing with water to clean lungs and u suck in th vapor of the water makes u calf a lot and will helpo you clean your lungs. this will also cause u to get higher next time. ) or start smoking concentrates |
