I obtained a batch of medicine . I noticed at the bottom of the "baggie" ., that there was allot of kief . I was felt it in my fingers and it felt sandy crystal like . I next did a scratch test. =it scratched the cd . Trichomes don't scratch Cd's .I am afraid to say which co-op it is . Its grainy crystal like substance thats hard and gritty and scratches Cd's . Has grit weed made its was into co ops ? If anyone this week has received medication thats in a baggie and its some kind of OG is all I'm gonna say ... please respond ....please don't speculate which club . you will no if you got some kind of og in a baggie this week . watch out Im going to dig this shit up and find out ....

more unfortunate is that somebody has found it and has not named the establishment that is continuing to sell these contaminated products which could be very hazardous to a patient's health.

If the dispensary won't take it back, don't throw it away! Put it in a jar of water with the lid on, shake lightly, let sit briefly to let the grit settle out, skim the bud off the top, dry out the bud, and you're good to go.

Yeah, it's a big problem in the UK. I guess they put sand in to increase the weight. I hope it's not starting to happen in the US! Jeez, what'll they think of next.

Please google grit weed. There are some interesting articles on this matter. Also, if a co-op is selling it, are they aware of it? If not, I'm sure if it was brought to their attention, they would probably remedy the problem. They might not even know they are being ripped off!

I never heard of this but god, putting GLASS in marijuana? How horrible! I'm glad you didn't smoke any of that. This is why I tend to stick with two co-ops; it seems I learn every day about something else you have to watch out for.

We, us kids back in da olden days got a lot of Mexican street herb that even contained rocks...

Came from dragging the plants in the dirt after harvest I guess.

This remindes me of when I was In High School, there was a lady, (Mother Scheffler we used to call her) ,that used to always sell the kids sacks o weed but she used to put fine dirt or sand in it to make it weigh more I guess she figured "Hell, What can they do about it?" Well I guess it really pissed someone off and one day they knocked on her door and then took all her weed/dirt by gunpoint. Needless to say all the bikers that stayed there were'nt to happy Anyway, Maybe she opened a Co-op???

Just wondering, but shouldn't a reputable dispensary pay enough attention to their medicine that they can identify this before selling it to patients? I mean if you look at it under a magnifier does it just look like plain old bud, or feel like it?

I'm not insinuating anything, honestly just curious because I find it hard to imagine, say, CRC getting in a batch of this and putting it up for sale if it can be identified by look and feel. If it's hard to identify, fine, but if not then I don't think I'd go back to a place that didn't inspect their meds well enough.

There hasn't been a single confirmed report of glass grit weed in the US.

Adulterated weed started showing up in the UK a little over a year ago. The idea behind this is that some substances are denser than MJ and thus weigh more. A gram of weird weed could weight as 5 grams.

The adulterant's range from sand to powdered glass. There has been one death in UK due to inhaled glass dust.

Here is what they do. They get a budding plant and then spray the buds with hair spray or spray glue - then the roll the nug in glass powder. They can create 10 gram nugs this way - it sparkles like so many crystals.

I grow my own and never have adulterated meds. Be wise!!

Yea i read that, they also are using silica gel, which absorbs water thus adding more weight. Basically sandblasting the plants.
