Hey WT's, I was wondering if anyone HAS information on if your medicine can go bad and turn Moldy. Ive had a White Widow strain for about 3 weeks in a 420 Jar and Ive spotted what looked like mold on some of the leafs. Has anyone expirenced this before and what did you do? -Thanks

If there is mold on the leaves it is there from the growing proccess. From my experience if the bud didn't have mold on it from the beginning, its not going to get it after it dries out.

You know you got mold when the substance you are referring to looks discolored, maybe a little yellow, and crumbles into a fine dust. Also mold is extremely harmfull on the lungs and throat. You will be really coughing or sort of choking. Take this "medicine" back and tell them what you found. If they don't give you an exchange for something else, please post it here and let us know where not to go.

Idk if this works with all strains, but you can put a tangerine peel or orange peel on top of the buds, either in the jar or medicine bottle. It softens up the bud, makes it fresh.

I did this 3 times. Only because of this horrible club i went to ( i cant say cuss of wt rules) the club is on wt forums. and i have posted on there forums. And the bud got soft nd fresher. only down side was that the original smell now ties in a tangerine smell.

but...by leaving the peel in the bag/container too long you can cause your meds to mold.

Hey thanks for the post replys, the mold looks kinda dark or purple ina circle shape like it was burned but i would never put a burnt bolw back in my jar. Im goin to go back to the club with the medicine and see what they say. Thanks again for your input, if anyone else has somethin to say about this please post. PeaCe

Yea, it was from the drying process. If it was never dried properly, and if there is still moister in it, it will only become more moist when sealed up. There had to be moister in it for this to happen. I would return it. Any decent place will take it in and exchange it. Don't let them tell you it happened later. Unless you got it wet, if it was cured properly, it would have remained dry.

this is a great trick to use for dried out buds, but only use a thin little sliver of peel like about 1/4" round or so. The bud will suck up that moisture nicely, but too big of a peel will overhydrate it making it hard to smoke.

I like using lemon peels myself, tastes more sour to me.

yes lemon peels good 2. BTW this trick/idea w/e is not EVER good to use on already good meds. its actually dumb nd a waste 2 do that.

in other words ONLY for dry low quality stuff

I know a couple ppl that use a bit of a flour tortilla.

No smell I would imagine..

As far as I've seen, the tortilla works quite well, make sure to use flour though, because the corn tortillas leave too much of a smell.

While the peels and tortillia will work in a pinch, the thing you want to do is get down to the Cornerstone Research Collective where Morpheus can hook you up with one of the only non-flower/concentrate items he sells. They're these great humidifying packets. He has two levels. One at 65 for regular Maintenance, and one at 69 for a "first aid" pack, refresher pack. They're made by Boveda and are used throughout the cigar community for their humidors. Each one lasts two months. Only seven bucks a peice and work wonders, especially when you keep your bundle in the fridge on top of it.

Don't know what to say about the mold. It definately will continue to grow so better smoke it or get rid of it.

even though this thread is way off topic now..... fresh lettuce is best for dry buds. completely inert and leaves no smell or taste.

When I was a cigar and roll-yer-owns fan I used to use something called a 'pouch button'. These are $1 metal buttons that have a type of clay inside them that retains water to very slowly release humidity. I am not sure if they could effect taste, I don't remember honestly if I ever used them for mj, but I imagine I probably did. Hasn't even occured to me ever since I got out of tobacco, but I don't see why they would not work. Any tobacco shop should have them.

I used one of those buttons for a while and it works if you're careful. Too much moisture in it and kept in a small container/bag and you bud could get too wet. You just have to get used to how much to wet the button. I found it worked best when I put it in the box that I kept all of my jars/bags in (making basically a humidor box).

You guys are giving tips on dry bud. This was a moldy bud!
Any fruit peel and veg will work if the bud is too dry. This guy wants to know about the bud that was too wet and moldy...
Any other suggestions?

Yeah don't smoke it moldy bud is very bad for your health retun it and demand a refund or exchange.

Would that be fair to the coop?

He had it jarred for 3 weeks before it molded. Bud needs to be dry before it's sealed away.

Toss it. Only safe thing to do.

Remember if your meds aren't fully dry to open your storage jars and let them breath for a minute daily to prevent mold.
