I still play CS every so often but Ive never competed in tournaments, Ive been in a few scrims but Im more of a pub gamer myself. Im not a team player, Im a speed rusher every round. Honestly, Ive never been one for online roleplaying games, actually when I first heard about World of Warcraft I was angry that the format was being changed from Real Time Strategy to Massive Multiplayer Online. Im a very, very big fan of the Warcraft RTS series. The debut game, Warcraft: Orcs & Humans, was the first computer game I had ever played so I kind of grew up with it, buying the sequels and expansion packs as soon as they were released. When I heard it was being made into a game format I didnt even like I was pretty angry but once I tried it I loved it, to be able to interact with the lore and battle the notorious characters from the RTS is a lot of fun. Its like an interactive book, sounds odd, but it kind of makes sense.

Rep Power: 1732 | Re: World of Warcraft Midnight Release Parties Ive got to say, GameStop employees arent very intelligent, at least not the ones controlling the line on wednesday night. They kept making different lines, "ok, everyone who has already pre-paid form a line here", then about 10 minutes later, "ok, everyone who has a reservation from a different gamestop form a line here" and then everything finally started to smooth out and the line was closing quickly. Alas they couldnt leave well enough alone, "ok, everyone who is paying with a credit card form a line here" which of course made things slow down yet again. Anyway, I finally got the game at 1:20am so it was only an hour and twenty minutes in line, not as bad as I had thought. I remember the line for Warcraft 3 was ridiculous, I think I waited over 2 hours that time. The expansion takes about 10 minutes to install and integrate itself. Very, very cool. The monsters are very unique and interesting not to mention some are massively huge, like bigger than archimonde or supremis. Its very nordic in design and atmosphere. The new death knight class is a lot of fun too. They are so overpowered, you can run a 5 man without a tank or healer, just 5 death knights running around destroying everything. Im not gonna lie, I spent 22 hours playing it, from 2am to midnight. Its extremely fun and I do recommend it. |

I have to wait to get the xp until payday next week- which is fine with me because I still have my one shaman at 67 and need to get my enchanting from 325 to 375. A week's worth of daily's might just get me the right amount of gold. I'm excited though, Northrend will be fun :) SE, have you been to the new bg? Is it like Arathi?

I haven't leveled as much in Northrend since I'm helping my bf level as fast as possible (DK's start out as lvl 53 i believe? i forget already). Syntax can probably answer that better than I can. So far it doesn't seem so much different than Outlands but again I'm only 72 on the shammy. But from what I've seen I do like the areas and the story line far more than BC. The other point is that I think it depends on what you like to do. I play casually and don't do the guild thing much. I only like PvPing so my main goal is to get to 80 as fast as possible to do bgs and arena. Just my preference. If you like raiding then it may be worth it to you since there's new challenges and they lowered the number of people required to play them. Anyway, to sum up, I think you should get the xpansion :) Last edited by MadRiverTurtle; 11-23-2008 at 12:51 PM..

Rep Power: 3615 | Re: World of Warcraft Midnight Release Parties :) It is so tempting. Playing WoW on rainy days is the best! I really love Bg's not much of a raiding kind of person. I might just stop by the nearest Best buy and try it out. Probably start a new character The Death Knight sounds pretty cool. Hehe :) ![]() |
