Old School Games

With all the new technological advances in digital animation and design I highly doubt there are many old school gamers left. Im talking about the old 8-bit Nintendo, the Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, the 3DO, and I guess Sega Dreamcast and Nintendo64 are old school now too.

Right now Im playing a game of Shadowrun on the Sega Genesis. It should be a short play and rather easy but Im taking my time doing all the side jobs and optional missions and gearing up my cyberdeck and such. If Im not playing that Im playing Flashback but I get annoyed with that game too easy, although Im addicted to its puzzle like platform.

Anyone else still enjoying the old stuff?

yes indeed! I LOVE all the old nintendo games! still have my old NES console (although my son took it with him when he moved - he has all the old consoles/games and they all still work!)

I have a NES emulator on my laptop and i am currently playing Dragon Warrior 2 and i play CONTRA a lot too!

Just got a Wii so i can play some of the old school games that ya can download!

you should talk to my son - he LOVES all the old school games (but he is studying for the Bar Exam so i don't think he has a lot of free time right now LOL)

Thumbs up Re: Old School Games

Hell ya i still have NES, Sega Genesis & Super NES in my garage back home. Duck hunt, Zelda, Heavy Barrel ..... shit i need to bring those platforms up.

N64 is possibly the best system for playing with multiple people, Perfect Dark has nearly ended friendships ;) I would still have my 64 but some jerk ass stole that and my ps2 when i had a party at my house in Aliso.

Who remembers the original Doom or Castle Wolfenstein for the pc? or the original Descent?

Wow, talk about memories. I played the original Doom but it was Wolfenstein 3D and Descent that really got my blood pumpin'. I havent even thought of Descent in so long, Im going to have to find a copy of it now. I still play the original Wolfenstein 3D ! You can unlock the full version of it when you beat the Return to Castle Wolfenstein game. Anyone familiar with Jill of the Jungle? I was addicted to that game as well.

Hell yeah top gear was the shit. I would play that all afternoon. I could dominate every level but i remember there was this one race i could just never win. Still loved to play it.

Also i loved to play the incredible hulk game on super nintendo. And any mario games were always a good way to go. I miss playing these games. Havent got to do so for like 10 years at least.

Yes, I not only remember the Intellevision I still have one. We still pull it out with a group of people and play Horse Racing. It's actually a lot of fun with a group. The graphics are pretty funky and the sounds are a da dunt, da dunt, da dunt but don't sound like hoofs. I have a number of games but we only pull it out for get togethers.

I have become a poker player during the last couple of years. This year I have made the final table in 6 of 8 casino tournament and won 2. In addition, I cashed at one of the World Poker Tour events held in Reno. The end of May I had a tuff day in Las Vegas playing in the Binnions Classic Poker Event. After doing well for 7 1/2 hours it all went to poo. I had plenty of chips and made good decisions and plays only to lose over and over when I was out drawn by the lower hands. So I finished 39th place out of 294 players but they only paid 30 places. I was crushed because I played well and just got beat by out draws. Oh well, maybe it will all line up for me at the next big tournament.
