| Are you drinking enough water? I just wanted to post a quick PSA to remind people to drink enough water. The recommended daily amounts are debatable (especially as we get more water from food than is usually accounted for), but marijuana as we know dries us out. So remember to drink more water than is just enough to fix your cotton-mouth! Also, many of us have illnesses that necessitate a lot of water-drinking. I myself am supposed to be doing this, and even more so with the MMJ use. Water makes your body happy! Go get a glass now! |

i liek the flinstone thing... i used to pop a multi-vit & b12 before really going full throttle in my drinking days now it's just a couple, and i call it done. iced tea with caffenine dehydrates you too(caff), a real good substitute for iced tea is red or green rooibos teas: nutritous, hydrating, and a anitioxidant(green is probably one of the best/strongest aniti-ox's there are) . H20 is amazing! you're body thrives for it, it cannot live long without it. it is more vital than food. be well and be hydrated. great thread! | |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Are you drinking enough water? saw an article not to long ago about the study done in the 1940's where the outcome was the standard 6-8 glasses of water a day. But, what was lost from that was that they did include tea, soda, coffee, and BEER ( because, its only 7%or so alcohol, the rest is water). the beer thing was dropped later and tea, soda, coffee were forgotten and replaced with only water. However, it should all be replaced with the lemonade from that hot-dog-on-a stick place, damn good stuff when your thirsty. |

By the way, has anyone tried that coconut water that comes in little foil pouches they sell at the checkout lines at Whole Foods? Last time I was there the woman in front of me in line waxed rhapsodic about them to me so I decided to try a couple. I found them unbelievably refreshing and even energizing, like a super dose of hydration "plus." I have to see next time if there's a less environmentally problematic way to find this stuff since lots of little containers is a lot of waste. Rep Power: 62781 | Water cures a lot of ailments, back aches, head aches. Also as a weed smoker its good with helping your kidneys to clean the system, that and taking a break every so often for a couple of days. |

| Re: Are you drinking enough water? I'm bumping this since even though it sure doesn't feel like it here in So Cal, summer is about upon us and I want to remind everyone to drink lots of water! Other things to drink, even the healthiest, all have their pros and cons (juice is natural but high in sugar; sports drinks replenish electrolytes but are loaded with high fructose corn syrup and chemicals, etc.) so even if you are drinking other fluids, remember to drink plain water as well. I posted a whole thread about this weird taste in the back of my mouth and since I've been paying more attention I think I can positively correlate it with my water intake. So I drink a sip after every hit, or down a couple of glasses once my edible has taken effect, and the problem doesn't present itself. And on days when for whatever reason I'm not hydrating enough but am medicating, I start to notice this taste. I have become convinced that no matter what else I'm doing while medicated, I have to have water with me! I don't even mean guzzling huge amounts -- there is such a thing as water poisoning but it usually happens in people trying not to fail a drug test -- just continuously grabbing a sip now and then. Before you know it you'll be peeing like a racehorse every half an hour and flushing toxins like crazy! Enjoy! |

Rep Power: 18 | Re: Are you drinking enough water? drinking water is vital to maintaining optimal health, water is a catalyst to many of your body's functions, I suggest everyone to please get enough of it (and not tap water), you'd be surprised at how much better you'd actually feel if you take proper care of yourself. |

| Re: Are you drinking enough water? Just wanted to share....I stated drinking 1-2 gallons of water a day and I've felt better in a weird way since then. Drinking water has improved my skin, made me feel sick less often, and helped along with other things change my life. Drink lots of water! It's good for you! And it's better than coffee |

Rep Power: 21270 | Re: Are you drinking enough water? Wow, this is a fitting post. I just heard about drinking half your body weight in water and actually started June 1st and I haven't looked back. You see I was a notorious soda/non water drinker. Between soda pop and Vitamin Water and misc beverages, I would drink tons of this stuff a day, and I was always feeling cruddy. Ever since the water kick, not only have I dropped my taste for sugary drinks, but I am losing weight as well! I don't even exercise but I can see a difference in my stomach. I also feel less depressed and overall much more focused. One of the hardest things I've noticed is, when ordering a fast food combo, most of the times they make it so difficult to get a cup full of water with ice, even if you paid full price for a soda!! No I don't want a 16oz bottle of water, I want my freaking 32oz cup full of H20!! But yes, water rules. That is all. -lp |

| Re: Are you drinking enough water? Yes! Fresh fruits and vegetables provide quite a lot of hydration. That "8 glasses a day" thing has been debunked to some extent because it doesn't take into account the foods we eat that provide water to our system. Just keep an eye on those calories: 3 slices of melon, better than chocolate but still sugary; 3 sticks of celery and you're good to go. |
