Rep Power: 192289 | MMJ Cooking Class/Seminar Being fairly new here, I'm not sure if this has ever been done or not, but with all the interest in medicated edibles, I got to thinking, wouldn't it be cool, if a Co-op could host a MMJ Cooking class or seminar??? I know I'd love to learn the ins & outs of cooking with MMJ, and I'm sure that it would be well attended, and that a wealth of information could be shared that day. Is this something that anyone else might be interested in??? |

Rep Power: 450280 | Re: MMJ Cooking Class/Seminar Sounds like a great idea. Would it have to be a co-op sponsored event? Maybe someone's house would work? Maybe bring our ideas together and share them. Just throwing out ideas. Sounds like great. Thanks for bringing it up. Hugs, Boomer . |

Rep Power: 52260 | I know a woman in the MMJ movement who make edibles for a select group of xo-ops. Might be interested in hosting a class. Will run it by her and get back to WT. GB |

Rep Power: 192289 | Re: MMJ Cooking Class/Seminar Ok... Looks like there is interest in something like this. I however, don't have a home and/or kitchen suitable for this type of event. Is there anyone that know of a Commercial Kitchen that's MMJ friendly, that might allow us to use, or rent (for very cheap) their facilities for the day? Or.... Does anyone interested in this event, have a home capable of hosting something like this? We could cap the number of attendees to lets say 15 or 20 (depending on the size of the facility). We could have 2 or 3 of our more talented MMJ Bakers and/or chefs, give the instruction seminar. Everyone in attendance, could kick in 20-25 bucks or so, to cover the cost of all materials, and everyone could be sure to come home with a nice bag of edibles, several new recipes, and a slew of new friends! Heck! If it works out well....maybe a few of us could work together and put together (sometime after the event), a MMJ Cookbook. This could be published and sold through WT and/or the various Co-ops, with all proceeds going to ASA or other important organizations. Ok...someone stop me now, before I get way too ahead of myself! I need to chill! Time for a bowl of Platinum OG! |

So many wonderful options to creating yummy, healthy edibles. Hope that word, "healthy" doesn't turn off a munch of you. Just been cooking the vegan way lately and seems to work for me. Anyway, would love to contribute in any positive way I can! Let me strap on my apron. |

Rep Power: 192289 | Re: MMJ Cooking Class/Seminar Ok Guys & Gals... I've gotten several PM's, lots of really positive feedback regarding an event like this. Only problem is...we need a suitable facility to hold this at. It would need to be a kitchen, whether commercial or residential, that could handle the load, and that is very MMJ friendly. Any suggesstions???? Last edited by KushMeister; 04-01-2008 at 12:18 PM.. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: MMJ Cooking Class/Seminar the class seminar is really a good idea and we could use bbq grilles and have the event in a park. And could have an iron chef (weed chef) competition and recipe exchanges and tastings along with those that just want to meet and greet. Could be a good sharing event. |

Rep Power: 662 | Re: MMJ Cooking Class/Seminar KM-How do we get the wheels spinning on this idea? Hate to think all this interest and brainstorming will not get to see any fruition. What do we need to do to make this happen? Guess the kitchen's the first obstical. Anybody got access to a commercial kitchen? Even a situation like a VFW or something only would cut into us medicating as a group. Any ideas? |

Without a location secured, there is no need putting the wheels into motion on any other phase of this event, but hopefully someone can come through and remedy that situation soon! | |

Rep Power: 662 | Re: MMJ Cooking Class/Seminar I'm glad to see someone posting on this thread again. Hopefully it will give some resurgence into this awesom idea that Kush Miester brought up. Really good idea, KM. Great way to not only get the community together in a social, kind of meet n greet thing but also to share our knowledge. I know people are always asking me questions. I'd be interested to see what other people are doing in their kitchens. I guess it all comes down to the kitchen. What do do? ANY IDEAS? |

Rep Power: 192289 | Re: MMJ Cooking Class/Seminar No luck as of yet. I did look into a couple of commercial kitchen situations, but they were turned off to the idea of MMJ being used in their facilities. It's not that they weren't sympathetic to our cause, but they were concerned as these facilities are used to produce several hundred company lunches daily, and they couldn't risk the fallout should it become public info that MMJ was used in their kitchens. Still working on it, but quickly realizing that this may need to focus on using a residential kitchen. Anybody??? |
