I'm getting ready to move, so I have a pantry full of things that I'll bring on over - everything from canned peas to mustard. Take care and be well always! |

Rep Power: 5692 | Re: I've Started a FOOD PANTRY to help WT'ers Great work Lance I used to collect food for a care center many years ago. I boldly approached store managers etc looking to get the products still fresh, but with limited shelf life. I had a lot of freezers and refrigerators so I was able to get fresh foods. The Oscar Myer delivery guy gave me all the older bacon, lunch meats etc. I got rolls from Sven-heart bakeries. I had fresh veggies, fruits, milk, butter , cheese - all the the work of collecting it. I was able to supply over 100 people for about three years doing this. If nonprofit you may buy surplus foods from the government. Crazy prices like $2.20 for 32 pounds of butter USDA. 100 lbs of bread flower for $1.80. All delivered. One day a freezer broke at Dryers Ice-cream main storage in Hayward. I filled two 15 passenger vans with this ice-cream of all flavors. I live in a mostly minority neighborhood. That day I and my people gave 1/2 gallon ice cream packages to every kid we could find. It was a happy and sticky day. clinton |

Rep Power: 1151 | Re: I've Started a FOOD PANTRY to help WT'ers :) Wonderful idea :) I was wondering to you take medicated edibles? The reason is everytime hubby & I buy meds we always get free edibles. it's really nice of them to give them to us but we don't really care for eating our meds :) So I always put them in the fridge and look for friends to give them to :) and at the moment I have loads of them taking up room :( So back to my question, would you take them? Peace KMG |

Thank you for taking charge and spearheading this program. It's a shame that those that you wished to help, just didn't wish to materialize. I know that there are many in our Weed Tracker community, that could use a little help, but perhaps it's just too difficult to ask, as we all have a little bit of pride and ego, no matter where we are in life. Your hearts are as big as an ocean, and you are both loved members, and valuable assets to this community. Thanks for all you do! | |
