Rep Power: 192289 | Dieting help.... Over about the past year, I had lost nearly 40 lbs, while following 'The Hollywood Cookie Diet' (Yes, you can Google it if you'd like). Ok, so I'm aware that this is nothing much more than one of those short lived 'trendy' kind of diets, but WTF...it worked well for me. Anyhow... Recently, I have gotten lazy, and have put about 10 of those 40 lbs back on I plan on getting back on the diet tommorrow morning, with the hopes of taking off the 10 I put back on, plus (hopefully) another 20 or so. Now, here's where I need your help most... How do I avoid getting the munchies late at night, and what do you guys that are watching your weight, use to satisfy the munchies when they do arrive??? TIA |

Rep Power: 5944 | Re: Dieting help.... About 2 years ago, my dad got to like 320, he did mad research and put hours a day into it but he lost 130 lbs in a year. he ate and eats 6-8 meals a day, i would say small-medium meals, but a plate/bowl of food a piece. It seems like he's always eating. He just eats meals that are 250-300 calories a piece (where his research went). He says your suposed to eat about 10 cal. per LB of body wieght to sustain your current wieght. Anything less and you should be losing weight. His diet isn't cheap though, he makes his meals, almost uses a whole day off for prep. But he's now running half marathons at 48. His times are competetive in the national level. Any one running marathons would know thats big, not best but big. And he does compound lifts with olympic weights. Both the lifting and the running changed his eating, but thats the 7th and 8th meals of the day. The thing that amazes me about his diet, partaining to munchies, is shaved ice with sugar-free flavored syrups. You can get an ice shaver any where and they have sugar-free flavored syrups at most if not all Cost Plus world markets. You can eat a huge bowl of that stuff and it's stull under 100 cals i believe. I was beyond impressed and am SOOOOOOO damn proud of my dad it makes me tear up. |

Rep Power: 18 | Re: Dieting help.... It's important to keep in mind that you are what you eat. Your cells literally build and rebuild itself off what you consume, so similar to how you wouldnt try to run your car off of soda because it'd be insane to put your engine through that abuse, and overall just not get where your going. The same type of logic should be applied to our diets, we should consume things to help maintain our bodies, especially if we choose a lifestyle that demands top performance from our body. Btw I know carrots and celery can seem like a torture to some but hay it's not that bad especially considering the benefits. You don't have go straight raw even though I'd suggest that. But.. you can always spice things up a bit but it's vital to stay reasonable. |

Rep Power: 252 | Personally, I don't think diets work. Not that I have had a problem in that department. But, I think if you cut out refined sugars, flour, and eat 5 meals a day that could help. Just think about what you eat and what you are actually putting in your body. Try to dodge foods that are processed or go for minimally processed foods, go for veggies, fruits, my favorite is making my own juices in the morning and that really boosts your metabolism. I think if you are going for diets you lose the weight but right when you get off it you just gain right back. Also, you can a fun workout like jumping jack and jump rope which are the ultimate aerobics and great cardio working out all of your body and it's fun. Ahhh, I love the feeling of my heart beating fast and the energy flowing within me, so blissful. I hope this helps! Namaste |

But in essence just drink water and fiber like metamucil or something so you dont eat alot. You could also eat nuts or small veggies or fruits. But the trick is to take your time mucnhing! Like one bite every minute and stuff. also consider taking zing or eating broccoli With sources of cholesterol . This promotes androgen production and may help fight man titties. Lol If you wanna control your cholesterol levels like with that high density lipids and the low ones Overdose on niacin it helps with that. Thats pretty much it Hope i helped. Rep Power: 0 | Re: Dieting help.... What's always worked for me is cutting out refined flour and sugar. Cutting sugar out of your diet will make you drop lbs so fast. The only problem is the withdrawal off of sugar is intense. You get really cranky. To fix this, just substitute fresh fruit for your sugary munchies, and use agave nectar as a sweetener when you really need something sweet. Works every time. Now if I could take my own advice... Drinking herba matte also helps when you're dieting. It kills your appetite and speeds up your metabolism. But it tastes like bum ass, so add soy milk to it with a little bit of honey...still will taste like ass, but you'll be able to drink it :) Gook luck! |

Rep Power: 3159 | Re: Dieting help.... dude kushmeister! i workout all the time man (being that im in college and still young and did wrestling in highschool) but anyways after taking a nutrition class i really learned alot about my body and what it needs and all that ish. But ya take those guys' advice on the smaller meals. I'd say just overall watching what u eat in proportion to the macronutrients your body needs ( grams of protein, grams of carb, grams fat ratio, which i like to keep at 20%fat, 40% protein, 40% carbohydrates n fiber) but ne ways if thats too detailed... id say for late night munchies.. try not to have too easy access in the fridge for desserts, and go for bananas or some "Kashi protein n fiber cereal with milk (or llactose free milk)" but ya i remember ya posting about having itching probs sometimes right? i used to have eczema and after eating more vegetables and getting all my vitamns n nutrients, i have not had any big eczema outbreaks at all! i usually try to eat alot of vegetables with tons of Vitamin A (spinach n carrots bomb for that, and sweet potatoes). So yea i love eating healthy, i feel great all day, don't need the morning coffee (i used to work at starbucks) and have the energy to take on lifes challenges n all that ish. Btw i highly recommend WABA GRILL!!! they are soo bomb! they advocate healthy eating for sure! check them out on YELP to get peer reviews on there food. (great place to eat instead of fast food for sure! and get brown rice with it, its healthier! alright guys take it easy, and go at it this way, the more "raw" and fresh the food is, the better it is for you! such as fresh veggies, fruits for sure! and stay away from all the processed stuff and especially the trans fats (which are unnatural fats and takes the body forever to get rid of)! |
