Rep Power: 113 | BBQ recipes? Since the days of summer are upon us, thought I'd mine the group and see what your favorite BBQ recipes are. I'll offer up one of my all time favorites. Silver & Black Tri-Tip Roast. Ingredients 1 Nice sized Tri-tip roast (2-4lbs depending on how many you are serving), preferably with the fat untrimmed. 2-3 Garlic Cloves 1 Bottle Ranch Dressing Salt, pepper, cumin, red pepper flakes, 1-1.5 teaspoons of each 1 large ziplock freezer bag. Peel and slice your garlic (not chop) into slivers as they will be stuffed into the roast. Rinse the roast under cold water then, fat side down, cut sliver sized slits in the roast about 1/4 inch apart to accommodate the garlic slices. Stuff the slices into the slits. Mix your herbs & spices and use it as a dry rub. After the spices have been rubbed into the roast, place roast in the ziplock bag and pour about half the bottle of ranch dressing into the bag, fully coating the roast. Allow roast to marinate (preferably overnight but a few hours will do if you're in a rush). After marinating, remove roast from bag and gently wipe/scrape away ranch dressing excess, leaving some on the roast. Place the roast (fat side down) on the hot, ready to go BBQ and grill for 40-45 minutes. Move the roast around periodically and watch for flare ups but do not flip over. Having a spray bottle to beat down any flames is a handy tool. After 40-45 minutes fat side down, flip over and allow to cook for another 10-15 minutes. Remove from grill and let the roast sit and rest covered for 5 minutes or so. This will allow the meat to finish cooking and keep the juice in. After resting, slice it up and enjoy. Looking forward to seeing what others got goin on. Thanks! |
