The reviews aren't bad at all and like my mom just said to me "you put in all that time watching all those shows, it's not going to hurt you if you waste a few more hours on the series". Thought it sucked in my opinion. However im a big fan of action and special f/x. This movie looks to be jam packed with it. Plus everyone says its a real departure from the old so count me in. |

Rep Power: 1344 | Re: Star Trek (2009) I just got home from the movie and I highly recommend it to one and all  I'm in no way a trekkie, having only seen the series a couple of times and the one of the other movies but this one intrigued me and was not disappointed in it at all. I recognized a couple of things that moved from the series to the movie but had I not known it would not made a bit of difference. A couple of small but very cool twists made for some small chuckles as well. This movie should reinvigorate the franchise and I can see a sequel or two coming out in the near future. |

The characters exemplified the best features of the TV show. Overall, it was a fun movie- trekkie or not. (And Vulcan ears are fawking hawt!  ) |

Rep Power: 82323 | Re: Star Trek (2009) Just got back from seeing it, and I am really jazzed. I have been hooked on the franchise for a long time, so this is a subjective review. If you liked the original Star Trek TV series than you will most likely love this movie. If you like SciFi type movies in general, there are plenty of things to like about this movie. If you aren't into SciFi and never liked any of the Star Trek series or movies, than the music score, costumes, and special effects are all fantastic! OK - I'll stop typing now, and go enjoy what's left of the cerebral glow I got from it. PS - I saw it un-medicated for personal reasons - if I had been on the right MMJ when I saw it, I'd probably still be typing about how much I loved it! AND WOW thats how you do a prequel right. it was pure entertainment the whole way through. also seeing the old characters in their younger years was DOPE. the catch phrases WERE AWESOME. spock is a OG. the cgi wasnt too annoying at all. shit was just dope. |

It does help to be familiar with some of the original series, but this thing is loaded with action. If you like action films you can't lose. Wasn't perfect, but I'd give it a B+. Looking forward now to what this movie may spawn. |

I'm not a fan of the series or the other movies, yet I saw this with an open perspective and I found it to be a joke. There's nothing original about it. |
