Rep Power: 572 | Re: NORML's First Ever TV AD Aired 4/20 According to the website I got it from NORML had a contest giving the winner 3000 dollars. The AD appeared on CNN, CNBC, Fox News Channel, Fuse, FX Networks, G4, MSNBC, CNN’s Headline News and Spike TV. So tons of news channels, some music channels, and man channels (lol). The winner was a college student from New Jersey. |

Rep Power: 52757 | Re: NORML's First Ever TV AD Aired 4/20 I liked the add. It shows were on the path to full legalization sometime down the road, and a long road its gonna be, but we are ready for it. Although i did have one issue with the clip. At the end when the girl started to laugh it gave me the impression that it wasn't to be taken seriously. Like it was a joke really. I think they should have cut that little part out. |

There was an article a short while ago in which the executive director of NORML said their average daily donations were about $900. $900 a day? Okay, maybe I'm just a broke scumbag with a bad sense of financial value, but isn't that a hell of a lot of money to be averaging each day? Is it really outside of NORML's financial ability to contract with a media marketing company to produce a highly effective and attractive commercial? $3000 is peanuts for what they are getting in from donations, don't they realize how drastically important it is to advertise this idea to the national public? I'm not saying I think NORML doesn't have the right intentions, I'm saying they desperately need some help in the marketing and advertising area! And just in case anyone from NORML reads this, I am unemployed and seeking work ::wink wink:: haha just kidding! There is a new show on the Discovery channel called "Pitchman", where it goes behind the scenes of some of the most annoying late night infomercials ever created. It's a pretty fascinating program that almost makes you want to kiss Billy Mays right on his fat, bearded cheek, but you have to wonder if those guys can make a living selling some magical stain removing detergent then why couldn't the idea of cannabis legalization not also sell well to the public? ![]() The difference is that this idea doesn't cost $19.99 + Shipping and Handling, it's just a simple phone call demanding change from your politicians, or talking about the issue with your family and friends. Where do you think the term "Grass roots" came from anyway? Last edited by Nailhead; 04-27-2009 at 05:18 PM.. | |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: NORML's First Ever TV AD Aired 4/20 I found the ad covered important aspects which hopefully will help urge Obama to understand that the current policy regarding marijuana is a joke. Hopefully the people in the white house will open there eyes and react to what the American people want. |

Rep Power: 1003 | Re: NORML's First Ever TV AD Aired 4/20 It's not Obama that needs convincing, it's the people. Most people don't support marijuana legalization, that's why Obama doesn't support it. The ads need to be targeting individual citizens, not politicians because politicians come and go and they only represent the people's views anyway, so changing their opinion is pointless. |
