I was lucky enough to sit at this panel at Comic Con a few weeks ago, and I wasn't interested in seeing it before then. It seems like it takes a completely different turn as to how all other extra-terrestrial films have been, in where us humans are in fact the hostile ones towards them. The special effects look pretty good too. Plus it was produced by Peter Jackson and any Peter Jackson film is a good one to me.

So I will definitely be there standing in line with you. I think this will be one of the films that gets popular by word of mouth.

This movie is going to be great. Producer Peter Jackson wouldn't put anything out there that's not going to be hit. It's quite exciting & interesting to see a a directors first film be so virally popular with crowds. The marketing is wayyyy interesting, I've seen billboards off the freeway that have said "Beware non-humans seen in vicinity". It seems like a great take on government intolerance, prejudice and poverty. Anyway, I'm sure to be standing in line, this looks like a flick I can't miss.

Note: Someone should start some sort of WT meeting outside of WT. I guess it could be pretty dangerous, mom says we're not supposed to meet anyone offline right? lol, but it could be pretty great.

Saw a preview for D9 when I went to see GI Joe the other day. That's the first time it hit my radar screen. Looks great! Can't wait!

Hey all theatres are "Smoke-Free" so edibles are a viable choice! Someone pick a great place with a serious sound system and I'm down for it! Even though most times when movie trailers are great, the movie isn't, lol. Still want to view it!

Heard this movie is going to change the way movies are made forever. Dunno if that's a legitimate claim but its enough to get me off my butt to go see the movie. The aliens look incredible

Saw it this past weekend and all I have to say is, ALL of your need to watch it. The documentary type style to it makes you feel like you are there and it is actually a very true interpretation of human nature and our tendencies to belittle others who are not like us. It also ended to what might be a potential sequel, and if that is the case, we are in for an awesome ride.

I will say that the special effects were done well, but the story was terrible. The movie ends without solving anything, its one of those movies that is so bad that the entire audience was cracking jokes and making fun of the movie during the ending (full house too on opening night).

At comic-con Neill Blomkamp (director) said that not all stories end with a solution, otherwise that would be the end to them, which I think was his way of saying he is intending on doing a sequel. I personally found the story to be a lot more original than a lot of the stories Hollywood is coming out with now a days. He and Peter Jackson also said that they focused their funding primarily on the special effects as opposed to marketing and other things. I can understand why this movie wouldn't appeal to everyone though. I do love hearing people cracking jokes during movies though like mystery science theater or riff tracks. Wish I could have heard it too.

I waited in line to see it on opening night and I DO NOT regret it! This movie was great! I highly recommend it.
