| Getting it right I've been a MMJ patient for almost a year now ( I really think that I've become able to medicate with marijuana. I've completely changed my smoking habits until the only way I could be doing it better is, obviously, not smoking at all. I've learned about the different strains and effects and I know what to smell and look for, although of course I have a long way to go here. Most importantly, when my symptoms flare up or I need to be medicated for whatever reason, I know what to reach for. However, with such a stupid situation as CFS, I still think this is always going to be an art rather than a science. Even knowing what I know now, sometimes it turns out I've picked the wrong thing. For example, today I felt I needed a hybrid, but it did not affect me well at all, probably because my issues aren't directly CFS-related today (more an issue with bad sleep and bad food). And it's a perfectly good med taken under my right conditions so I know it wasn't a bad batch or anything. I immediately realized I'd gotten it wrong and a light indica would have been the best way to go. Luckily none of these incidents are ever fatal, of course, and the remedy is relatively simple. But it makes me wonder if I'll ever have it down. I guess the same goes for things like psych meds and cancer drugs and other Rx that have such a wide variance of effect among different people. But still, I've learned enough to feel like a bit of a doofus when I take the "wrong" thing! |
