| Re: Fibromyalgia I'm sorry to see this forum isn't more active! I have chronic fatigue syndrome, which many doctors including mine consider to be the same illness as fibro, and while I don't have the same disabling pain, I do have many things in common with fibro patients. When I can post new threads I'm sure I'll bore you all to tears with my stories about CFS and weed. |

Rep Power: 9 | I suffer from this too. It sucks because everyday you feel different. I also have a pituitary tumor to go along with my misery. All I can do is smoke some herbs to feel better. I used to be on so many different prescription pills that I could hardly function, but now that I smoke cannabis I have cut down on half the pills I used to take. It really helps. |

Rep Power: 12 | Re: Fibromyalgia If anyone has more info on this please post up. My mother has Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and chronic pain. She is on all sorts of pain pills and is honestly really wasting away. It hurts me to see what all the perscription meds are doing to her. I'd love to get her on MMJ, or at least have her try it instead of her pills, or do something to help her get off of all those perscription meds. Maybe some of your stories will be an inspiration to her. I know that i really dislike taking pills and all the crazy side effects that come with them, and thats why i use MMJ. She approves of me, but has never really seriously considered using MMJ instead of her meds. In all honestly if anone in the family need MMJ its her way more than me, even if it does help me with all my symptoms. Thanks for any help, I might have to just share this thead with here if there is enough proof to get her to give it a try. |

| Re: Fibromyalgia I would be happy to share my stories but I would rather start a separate thread for CFS, since although fibro and CFS are related, we have different issues. I'm still pretty new and I guess I need to post in a few more threads, plus I'm getting married on Saturday so I don't quite have the time at the moment. I'll be back next week sometime and will be happy to share my stories, and I will be very glad if my experiences can help anyone else. |

Rep Power: 442 | Re: Fibromyalgia RD I know about the pain and nausea of fibro. I'm 42 been sick for quite a while. You need a good strain for nausea. If I don't get up early then my days is in the crapper. I stopped smoking for about 10years, til I got sick and decided to try it to help my fibro. I've had to cut way back and need to exercise more. I cut down from 10 painkillers to 1. I also take zoloft and that helps. Tell your mom to write to me. T |

Rep Power: 44 | Re: Fibromyalgia Shit, I stopped "getting high" many years ago. MMJ is great for pain in moderate amounts for me. I have been able to stay off dangerous narcotics and go about my daily functioning. Fibromyalgia is a tough disorder, I feel bad for you. You've probably been through a zillion drugs - including stuff like Gabapentin, Klonopin and phenobarbital - with little relief. This is typical of FM sufferers. I got so effed up on those things I couldn't work, play or function. Wife would find me asleep at 5 pm. Made me really grumpy. Sucked. Try giving MMJ another chance. I realize you're probably pretty frustrated by al the FM crap, but you may find through experimentation that you are able to reduce your dosage of big pharma drugs (and all those side effects), and feel better as well! |

All wrapped up in your own little world? My wife has had Fibromyalgia since before it had a name. Cannabis saved her life by allowing her to reduce her pharmmed intake by more than two thirds. Her liver was deteriorating rapidly with her intake of pharmaceutical poisons. Cannabis allowed her to reverse that. I believe you when you say Cannabis doesn't help YOU. It is by far the most subjective and least quantifiable medication in existence. It DOES work for others. For some it is a God send. As someone suggested, earlier, if Cannabis doesn't help you, turn in your Recc. You don't qualify.

What a hateful thing to say. As someone who suffers from a highly misunderstood illness, I would think you of all people would know that everyone's bodies, metabolism, symptoms and pain are different. What works for you may not work for me and so forth. Generalizing your experience to EVERYONE with fibro is absolutely absurd. This is trolling behavior but worse, it's cruel. You ought to be ashamed of yourself.

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Fibromyalgia i have had fibro for about 15 years. mj and meditation are a key part of my pain management stratagy. shinzen young is a vipassana teacher who has great pain control techniques. i have studied with him for 14 years . i have done both eastern and western medicine with some meds helping alot. i have stayed away from the addictive painkillers they want to give you and have only seen grief with those who went that route. i am currently having a lot of success with an alpha lipoic acid taken with silymarin[milk thistle] and selenium. anyone interested can message me and i will send you the links to info on the above. |

| Re: Fibromyalgia sorry to hear it doesn't work for u. edibles would be better then as some people may not get the same effect when they smoke. so u really don't have to call anyone a pot head because it didn't work out. keep on taking the synthetics if they work for you and be compassionate to all who suffer. That's what WT is all about. |

Rep Power: 179 | Re: Fibromyalgia I was recently diagnosed with fibro (along with a multi-list of arthritis). I have found that mmj supports my body's own healing energies (I use Reiki energy as I'm trained in that technique) by allowing me to get into a cleansing meditative state. I also do not consider myself a "pot head"; along with others ---- If cannabis isn't helping, you may want to reconsider the use of this MEDICINE. |

| Re: Fibromyalgia i loved what the previous poster on meditation had to say. People it really does work There is many a day i don't have the mmj and i have to focus to accept it (the pain) and it seems to be less intense. The second way i have dealt with pain is this: It is my favorite way. i go out into my shop and put a Tommy Castro cd (for instance) and turn up the volume and get into carving my rocks or wood projects. So ya'll can try it either way. the peaceful to the radical version. they both work for me. the quiet meditaion i do when i am praying for someone. Nope, no special connections here, ya'll have the same connection i have. JUst give it a try. i'd love to see what works for others. peace out to WT. bp |
