RRM Design Group along with Wormhoudt Inc. are currently working with the City of Los Angeles and the local Skate community in developing a 16,000 sf public skate park for the heart of Southern California's skate culture, Venice Beach. The original iconic skate area known as "The Pit" was torn down back in 2000 to make way for the planned Windward Plaza improvements. After an extensive public outreach effort with the skate community, including local skate legend Jessie Martinez, the design team came up with a plan reminiscent of the "The Pit" as well as new terrain designed to challenge even the most advanced skater. The $3.4 million dollar skate park is expected to be complete by next October.

Holy shit! That better be one helluva park for 3.4 Million of our dollars. Damn! I'm going to buy a deck and start skating again....maybe in coming months I will hit this place up! lets just hope i dont end up like this

since i havent skated in like 2 or 3 years! lol

ive been watching this park come together, its looking super sweet! they've just recently started framing up the bowls.

Was just in venice yesterday, the parks coming along nicely.. looks like they're almost finished with it!
