Rep Power: 83616 | Surf Report. 7-24-09...SURF: da...wedge!!! 15-18 ft. triple overhead + with occasional 25 ft. and fair+ conditions. PM REGIONAL OVERVIEW: Pumping SSW swell on offer this afternoon, sweeping down the beach, and walling out most breaks. Better exposures see head high-well overhead surf, with plus sets for standout exposures to double-overhead+. Onshore flow has a slight bump/texture to the surface, with some occasional pick and choose corners on offer. |

Back in the 70-80's we could surf the wedge if you got there really early, but after getting dropped in on too many times by spongers then finally having 'romo' threaten to kill me on the beach after having some sponger drop in on me and my surfboard hit ron in the arm, drew blood and even tho' it wasn't my fault he said I should not be surfing! lol! Allllmost punched my lights out but I was a wee teenage waif dropping in on over head wedge that must have had some effect.I figured 'fuck it' I like pelican point on a big south swell anyway. |

WATER SAFETY:BLACK Large surf, strong South to North drift at the openly exposed beach-breaks, and dangerous rip currents 7-25-09 15-18 ft. triple overhead + with occasional 20 ft. and poor-fair conditions. PM REGIONAL OVERVIEW: Solid, walled-up lines making it through this afternoon. Expect generally head high+ surf with much larger sets. Standouts go even bigger. Shape is generally closed-out with some surface texture. Winds are onshore. This morning's dawn patrol: Expect solid wedges mostly in the double-triple overhead plus zone with occasional bigger sets. Very dangerous with many close-outs. Clean surface conditions. Tide filling back in all morning. |
