There is a Strikeforce MMA fight card on April 11. Frank Shamrock Vs. Nick Diaz is one of the fights. Im takin Nick Diaz. Who do you guys think is gonna win?

Good to see Strikeforce becoming a viable alternative to UFC. They are managed well and have grown slowly and consistently.

Shamrock is winding down in his career but still very dangerous. Diaz has enjoyed cannabis in the past, so for that he is my favorite. Tough one to call. Diaz has some good hands, although usually not the one punch knockout artist (love his Lawler knockout).

I could see this one going either way. The smack talk between these two characters will be just as good as the fight!

I'm still hoping for a Anderson Silva/GSP megafight!

I heard there are talks of a Fedor vs. Anderson Silva megafight. I would love to see that fight. I guess Anderson Silva walks around at 210 lbs. I had no clue he was that heavy since he fights at 185 lbs. So if they did fight it would be at a catchweight of maybe 220-225 lbs. So no Nick Diaz fans or Frank Shamrock fans have an opinion on this fight? I think Nick will win by Ko or TKO

It will never happen. Silva is Dana Whites poster child so he wont let him fight else where. They will throw crazy money at him to keep him in the UFC and away from Fedor. Fedor beats Silva 10 times out of ten....if he does that Dana cant go off about how Silva is the greatest anymore.

And Fedor will likely never fight in the UFC because he wants too much money (Dana is notoriously cheap) and Dana has said publicly that unless Fedor signs a multi-fight contract he isnt interested.

If they couldnt get Fedor to the UFC to fight Randy Couture (which was supposedly the only reason Couture came out of retirement last time) then you wont see him in the UFC to fight Silva

I think there is almost a zero percent chance of a silva vs emelienko fight. Fedor fights heavyweight.... walks at 240-250... fights at 235 or so.... Silva fights middleweight(185)..

Silva is WAAAAAY too small for Fedor in strength alone. I think the best chance for a Fedor fight in the UFC is against Brock Lesnar at some point. BTW, if Arlovski had a chin and was a bit more cautious, I think he had a chance again Fedor at the last affliction.

I am a huge fan of Nick Diaz. He is resposible for maybe the best fight I have ever seen (Diaz vs Gomi)

That was the single most satisfying win as a Shamrock hater / Diaz fan

Yeah, he tested positive for weed after the Gomi fight and the win was ruled a no contest. Which is a bummer because at the time Gomi was considered the best lightweights in the world an Diaz put a beating on him.

If you havent seen the Diaz vs Gomi fight hit me up, I will email it to you. Its still one of the best fights (easily top 3 in my book)

He cleaned up for the fight. The state commision could care less about his medical rec.

Last March Diaz was supposed to fight Jae Suk Lim for EliteXC. (when Shamrock fought Cung Le)
But then state commisioner Armando Garcia would not accept the recommedation.

Not the first mixed martial artist to list marijuana as prescribed medication on CSAC forms. the California commission fined and suspended Toby Grear who cited the use of Marinol based on a medical marijuana prescription.

Diaz and Cesar Gracie talked of filing a lawsuit but they never did.

And lets face it, he only won because he caught Shamrocks arm with one of his gay kicks.


He beat 2 no namers with loosing records, 2 failed Ultimate Fighter rejects and Tony Fryklund (who is at the tail end of his career anyways)

Diaz would out box Le on their feet. He would over power Le on the ground and has more submission ability in his left nut then Le has in his entire body.

Even seen Le on the ground? He panics like a turtle on its back. Diaz would rip off a limb and beat him with it.....all day long.

cung le was a champion in san shou and kickboxing. ha has faaaaar more experience than anyone he will fight in mma. his striking is far superior than most mma fighters watered muay thai they learn in a pos mma gym. you guys remind me of the ufc when it pans through the audience. the people in the audience remind me of wrestling fans. ive known people that trained in cung le's mma gym in nor cal. he can go to the ground just no one can really get him there cus of his footwork. he also broke shamrocks forearm, snapped it, with his kicks.

Diaz has pro boxing experience (undefeted), he has won countless grappling tournys, but I am not using those as a selling point, because its MMA, not boxing, grappling or karate. He is also a Cesar Gracie black belt. Do you know how many times Cesar Gracie has given out a black belt in Jits? Look it up then tell me thats not an accomplishment unto itself.

I was argueing that Diaz' would win because he is more well rounded. Le has better kicks IMO (the only facet of the sport that he is better then anyone at by the way). And nobody can get him to the ground because he spend the whole fight back peddling and running.

Diaz has better hands and his reach would make Bruce Lee....errr, Cung Le's kicks harder to connect with.

you sound real confused. now you know where my wrestling fan comment came from. Any legit bjj black belt is hard to get under any known bbj master. im sure his mma record isnt extensive. but le has many many fights under his belt where he just embarrassed his opponents. i was not aware of diazs pro boxing but i still think he would lose. diaz would never get cung le to the ground or out strike him imo. i gives props to diaz for fighting in many other leagues in mma and gettign real experience but again i think he will lose against cung.

Read my last post. Cung Le said on Sherdog.com that shamrock would control Diaz standing and on the ground. Then when they interviewed him before the fight on showtime, he said it could go either way. And the reason I said Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee wanna be is cause hes doing movies now.

Ive been watching MMA for yrs and my bro in law trains under Rickson Gracie with Fabricio Werdum so ive been around the sport and know it well. Ceasar Gracie is much harder to get a black belt under than almost any trainer. Its a known fact in MMA. Gilbert Melendez is a purple belt under Ceasar Gracie and he beat a black belt on the undercard of the Diaz-Shamrock fight. The guys last name was Damm and he was Brazilian. He didnt even want to go to the ground with Melendez. That says it all!!
