Rep Power: 7447 | New Venice Skatepark I was wondering if anyone else is interested in this new amazing facility that located right off the boardwalk on the beach. This new park estimated at $2.5 million and designed by Wormhoudt Inc. is still working on an opening date. But it will be opened by the locals and not a "big corporation." I've heard that it's supposed to be open at the beginning of September but the dates have been jumping around. Here is a link to get a glimpse of what the skatepark will look like and it's almost there. http://www.lataco.com/taco/tag/venice So anyone with any extra info will be much appreciated. And co-ops in the area you might be able to help as well. Thanks and PEACE Last edited by Repsol720; 08-30-2009 at 11:54 PM.. |

Rep Power: 22534 | Re: New Venice Skatepark Etnies skate park in Lake Forest is the dopest park. Smoothe ground with sick ass manual pads and good ledges. The only thing thats lame is you have to wear helmet and elbow pads there. I dont skate anymore because my back wont allow it but I miss it. I didnt feel like I was progressing much anyways past the tricks I already know before I had to quit skating but once you have skated consistently for a few years you shouldnt just stop but I had to because my back cant handle the poundings anymore I guess. Actually I wonder how much better I would be now if I had been able to keep skating. I bet I would have learned a trick more or two. Oh well thats life. |

Rep Power: 1175 | Re: New Venice Skatepark I like that spot. My only 2 complaints are, the size (its a little small) and all the little kids that skate there. Which I'll be honest, some of them have some pretty hot "South County" mom's, so I guess that one really isnt a complaint at all. |

I would, but Lake Forest to L.A. is a long ride on a skateboard. Can I just drive? | |

Rep Power: 4060 | Re: New Venice Skatepark its wwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaacccccccccccccccccckkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkk this new park is way too wack for words right now. the bowl section is still as buttery as ever, but i took a closer look at the street section, sucks ass. oh and theres new rules up....(park should be opening soon, they put these rules up yesterday i think)... full pads required, that includes, helmet, knee pads and elbow pads.. plus a whole slew of other bullshit rules. my personal favorites... "No Skateboarding or skating while under the influence of alcohol, drugs or the combined influences of alcohol or drugs" "Spectators are not permitted in the skate plaza area." "Violators of these rules are subject to immediate citation and removal." as far as im concerned, this is wack as hell. its like building a nice park with picnic benches, and a playground and soccer fields etc etc etc and telling people, "sure you can be here, as long as your playing ball, or having a picnic, but if you intend to just 'hang out' and loiter, we'll give you a ticket and escort you out." wack |
