Rep Power: 699 | Good days, bad days So I have always had a problem on my bad days. Often on the really bad days good sativas, don't always give the pain relief I need and my stomach hurts all day and I just have to hope the worst doesn't happen. I have used some hybrids with some success, but rarely can I find a strain at 50/50 that can give me the necessary pain relief w/out the narcotic heavy stone. On the job I need to have a clear head and no narcotic feeling. I was wondering what other people used when they have to go to work and need to keep a clear head, but their stomachs are not cooperating. |

| Re: Good days, bad days Maybe it's just my tolerance, but a good strong OG kush can keep me out of trouble, although I'm picky about them, sometimes they make me a little too clear, and slightly manic. |

Rep Power: 536 | Re: Good days, bad days Personally, when my gut is in a royal uproar the only relief is a Kush. I find it doesn't take much but that is the only thing that does the trick. So far I have found the OG, BUBBA, and HINDU to work best for me but everyone is different and an idividual so you will have to experiment to see what is best. Namaste. Hang In There! This too shall pass. Just wanted to add, why don't you join the Gastro support group on July 21st? Last edited by CA_Geisha; 07-13-2007 at 11:21 AM.. Rep Power: 699 | Re: Good days, bad days Because unfotunately I have been working every day that the meetings have taken place. Trust me I have kept my eye on the boards, and am trying to make one, but I work odd hours, and as often as I can. |

| Re: Good days, bad days Hey new to the boards but thought Id just ask a question going along with this topic instead of starting a new thread. Im a Crohns patient who recently moved to placer county. I have been in remission for quite a few years now so I am not on any daily meds, but have been on everything fom Asacol to prednizone to aniti parisitic medicines trying to get my intestines figured out. Anyways I just moved out here from Texas and recently went to a dr here and he told me a few options I didnt have before. All in all my question is basically the same as yours, I am a college student and on occasions my stomach will have an uproar in the mornings and if I dont take care of it, then Im pretty much done for a while. Just curious on what strain would be best thats not going to cloud my head to a point where school is undoable. Sorry about the long post. Thanks for your help. |

Rep Power: 88 | Re: Good days, bad days i've been a chrons patient since i was 7 years old and let me tell you nothing works better then a good durban poison. sativas work better then indicas because they stimulate brain activity by giving the body more energy... i don't know about you guys but having chrons can take its toll by sucking the energy right out of me... only a good sativa can bring me back to life...durban poison, burmese haze, nyc diesel, trainweck, afgooey, willie nelson , and jack herer |

Rep Power: 1003 | Re: Good days, bad days Interesting, I thought indicas were better for Crohn's, maybe that's why nothing I've tried so far has worked as well as I had hoped. My only question is that I've been really stressed out with severe anxiety, and I had read sativas can worsen this, not sure if anybody knows anything about that, but I'll probably try a good sativa anyway when I get the chance. |

The other thing you can try is hybrids that have a more even blend 50/50 sativa/indica. This could be the best way to go for you. Again the only way to really find out what works and what doesn't is to try. | |

Rep Power: 88 | Re: Good days, bad days trader joes has a big jug of it for 6.99 under the juices and it definatly can clear up ur congested lungs or any irritation too...except when i drink it it bothers my stomache a little so i would suggest not drinking more then 8 ounces a day p.s. blueberry is a great strain for chrons!!! Rep Power: 498300 | Re: Good days, bad days I use Pepcid AC when I cannot medicate. Also, Imodium Advanced is a best friend of mine. Maybe if you tried one of thes and just took a couple hits od sativa it might help get you thru the day. But, if you get those horrible stomach cramps, maybe a small amount of indica, so your not to medicated. Wish you Peace and comfort for your tummy. I know it isn't fun, cuz I deal with it too much. Fortunatly I am at home and things are always easier when I can lie down with a hot pack. Good Luck and check your diet, it can be causing some of the problems. |

Rep Power: 126 | Re: Good days, bad days I recommend "George's" Always Active Aloe Vera, it is clear like water and has no taste, seriously it tastes like water. I think it is the best, it costs about $24 for a one gallon jug at The Vitamin Shoppe, it is made by Warren laboratories. They filter out all the bad stuff and there are no preservatives, chemicals or additives. I drink 2 ounces in the am and 2 before bed. I even got my dad to start using it and he says it has been helping with his Barretts esophagus. |

| Re: Good days, bad days Aloe is great for the inflamation in the guts! Just start out slow and work you way up in dose. When I first started using it it made things worse by me using too much, too fast. It's best if taken regularly, not just for when things go "bad". Not everyone can tolerate it as some people get "flares" from it. I also get it at the Vitamin Shoppe as well. PS Don't mix it with citrus juices....they inhibit the aloes anti inflamatory effect if taken together. Really good post Crohnie! |

Rep Power: 88 | Re: Good days, bad days yes coconiut juice is excellent for the gut it produces flora which ur intestines are made of and it contains luric acid which is also good. i highly recommend getting extra virgin coconut oil by nutiva only. if u take 3 table spoons a day u'll be doing ur intestines a favor |

Rep Power: 10 | Re: Good days, bad days I treat my IBS with a daily regimen of a pineapple enzyme called bromelan (availible at the vitamin shop), an ak-47 or plumas gold sativa like strain along with a clean oil based hash, herbal tea, carbonated water and if possible, meditation . I utilize the cannabis and bromelan as my main anti-vommitory/inflammitory agents as well as for my anxiety relief. Togeather, this is one hell of a treatment for my ailments which I've suffered from seriously for the last 15 years. |

Rep Power: 161 | Re: Good days, bad days Matanuskan Mist helps my stomach like no other. I've thought about just calling it "wonder bud" or "savior's green" before. That strain has taken me out of the bathroom and given me many a day or night back. Crohn's disease is extremely finiky as well, so this is a serious strain---- even if it is almost always the cheapest thing on the board. |
